Fun Fact: Sean McColl competed on Ninja Warrior France 2 but ended up failing the 2nd obstacle. There was also motherfucking Bob L’Eponge-also known as SpongeBob Squarepants-and he did an obstacle better than him. Manuel Cornu also competed in the season and made it all the way to the end of Stage 3

I was huge into ninja warrior back in the day…. Holy crap nearly 20 years ago! The Japanese show was more fun and funny, with varied obstacles. The America version started that way as well, and got harder and more interesting. But very quickly I noticed it started to turn into about 1 jumping thing, and then an entire course of rock climbing related stuff. Oneness it was all grip, hanging, and climbing, I got bored of it. Lost it’s magic and became a rock climbers event.

I think he does that to stay within fair use guidelines and avoid copyright claims but even so, the commentary is why you watch the video. I feel like you don't really need to watch the full clip to understand what he's talking about and the video still works with these short clips.
@medea278 ай бұрын
It's a necessary evil thanks to the joys of copyright, and he's especially careful given the original broadcaster took all their videos off streaming services. Personally, I'd never go looking for the show to watch as it's the commentary that caught my attention in the first place anyway.

Having seen all six installments of USA vs. The World, I can say with total confidence that Sean McColl was the reason this foolishness was ever competitive. Japan was a tackling dummy, and the other Asians and Latin America weren't much better. Much like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Europe had a capable team but weren't slaying the giant without a megastar. McColl stepped up when he needed to.
