I have a 1999 F1. Looking to add Capristo exhaust. The sound reminds me of the F1 race. What Im not really clear on is the different stage. I believe level means it's normal at start up. Level 2 is louder at start up and level 3 is insanely loud at start up.

Thanks for the video! I have a '99 F1 Spider and it is NOT shit. Just like folks are focusing on the wrong things with prices, I think the F1 has been unfairly maligned. It's an incredible car and you drive it just like a manual, but the interface is different... and it's quicker. Mine does have a Tubi on it and that's going to come off and I'll install the Capristo. The low droning tones of the Tubi are not what this car needs, IMO.

Hey Rick! To be clear I do not for a second think the F1 is sh*t - I'm hunting for a 355 as we speak and I'm not sure which direction to go in re: Manual/F1. All I know (as you do too!) is that I HAVE to have a Capristo exhaust on it ;) Thanks for watching - Dylan

Everyone with an F1 car will fight to the end on that hill...have they driven a manual 355? I do agree there is room for both cars but manual 355s are not to be understated.

I owned a 97 Manual and on my second 99 F1 .. I do like both , but If the stick in the F355 felt like my 997 I would want the stick, IT IS ADDICTIVE TO SHIFT A 997!.. There is a reason it got a poorer rating for the Gearbox when it was tested in road & track against the NSX and 993!

What world am i living in? Is there actually an argument trying to be made that the gated box in a 355 is bad or maybe not even as good as a 997 box. Even in a relative sense this is just so far from reality according to actual people who drive these cars. Enough of the ridiculous validating of the 355 F1 box. It is what it is. It was the first of its kind and thats a real accomplishment in the grand scheme of development. Its also quite slow to change and gives the driver far less control of the car overall. Let's be real here this is getting silly.

Cool vid...might take another look at that Nardo F40LM though. Seems a bit more complete than that. I believe Michelotto was involved in the restoration and paint.

Honestly it’s really not a nice example. It was a standard car that RM Sotheby’s themselves used quotation marks to describe as a “Competizione”. It was converted to Comp spec by unnamed Dutch and UK garages, not Michelotto. The paint was done by Zanasi. It’s been for sale about 4 times this year because no one wanted to pay what the owner wanted for their non-officially converted, Audi coloured F40 when you could either go buy a standard non-cat/non-adjust or a period, Michelotto converted LM/Comp car

You might get reaquainted with the specifics of that Nardo F40. It has had engine work by Michelotto and a 123,000 pound bill from Zanasi who has spent 60 plus years painting special F cars including all Tailor Made program cars and the Icona series.

I’ve driven both the manual and F1 Ferrari 355 and i can honestly say the F1 is better and faster in my opinion.
