Not really beating this game, if you don't make your own map..

@ I don't think creating your own maps is 100% essential for these games (although I have a handwritten map of Zelda 1, and I think Mapmaking in games in genuinely a fun way to play games). However, I think I agree that this game is more fun without the game giving you an explicit map. Even without beating Metroid 1, I loved playing it because it allowed me to explore and get lost. Looking at the map, it's kinda small, but without it, it just feels endless; as if i'm really exploring this planet. It's certainly a different experience having a map at the very least, but for the purposes of this SNES Port of the game, that's one of the features, so i'm gonna use it and show it off. (otherwise, I might as well just play the original, right?)
