After watching then practicing this this move I’m loving it. I’m hammering into the back of the ball with my irons and driver not alway straight but that will come. Also stops me rising in the backswing and staying more on top off the ball. Please try this move it’s awesome. Genius Russell flipping Genius 💎💎💎

This just really clicked with me even more then before/now I understand how when you make your back swing by loading up and keeping your weight on your back foot and at the same time shifting to the left simotamiously......really hard to explain but easy to do once you understand the motion.

WOW!!!!! All I needed was the step drill, best weight shift drill in the history of the game, you definitely got my back swing ready to explode in the right way.

Thank you for your work Russel. I have been following you on KZbin for more than one year now and I always learn something new. Now it can be very confusing when you have different sources because it’s always a personal approach that you and the others are so kind to share with us. This video pushed me to react with this very simple comment. Golf is about launching a club forward. Having this in mind we get very close to a tennis player driving his trail elbow forward to smash the ball. I am not a very good golfer ( yet but I have great ambitions :) ) but If I keep in mind that I am trying to launch the club in front of me as far as I can, then yes I start driving my trail elbow and as a consequence my hips start to move correctly because if I want to throw my club as far as possible in front of me I don’t have any other option! this is with this intention in mind that my swing improves dramatically without any other complications. So why not make golf as simple as it deserves to be? My second interrogation would be the following: for right handed golfer, we need to focus on our right side ( right elbow, right arm and right wrist ), the so called “lead arm” is just here for staying in balance and for keeping the arc constant through the swing ? What is your thought on the above ?
@russellheritagegolf3 жыл бұрын
I think if it’s works then keep at it. The lead arm will control the club face and the right arm hep push the club through. But again whatever works then that’s perfect

@@russellheritagegolf Great lesson Russell ! Is the right arm largely responsable for pulling the club to top of backswing ?
@AKVT-uz2gj3 жыл бұрын
Also single lead arm pitches forces you to shallow he club If you don’t you come over the top and catch it fat All these drills are meant to get our hips out of the way so the elbow has room to drive trough and create Lag…..yay Every range session should start with single arm drills lead/trail 10-20 shots each side These 3 drills are all you need 5 range sessions and you’ll be crushing it

Hi Russell, am a 70 year old golfer, I have had no lessons, but I was informed that the left hand dominates the swing! Take away with the left and follow through with the left! I have now found that if I keep my right elbow close to my torso I can now hit the ball further now to when I was younger? Thus me pushing through with the right side of my body. I can't keep my left arm straight which I feel this lets me down with a lot of my play! I am finding that am not playing that often now - My wife said it's old age - But I think am throwing in the towel! Would I benefit a lesson? I don't play comps anymore as my game gets worse when I have a card in my back pocket LOL! Love your tips though as I dream on!

Hey - Two things: 1: In that pitching drill you talk about driving the trail elbow. Can you be more specific about what that means? Which part of the elbow are you driving? Is it from the inner side of the elbow? The Point of the elbow? Also - do you want to drive the elbow as far as possible? Do you want the elbow to lead? At some point does the elbow slow and the hand and forearm pass it? Sorry - I'm not trying to be difficult - this just happens to be one of my pet peeves about instruction: For the sake of explanation I'm a black belt in martial arts and I taught for a while and the biggest issue I found when teaching AND learning was when the student is asked to create or recreate a specific move. For arguments sake lets take a pretty straight forward punch: A punch is pretty basic - you're straightening your arm in a specific direction. So while that seems a pretty simple thing to imitate My question then becomes: How should I straighten my arm? or - push my fist out? Because - you can 'push from the from the front of your shoulder - or Drive your tricep - or even use you Lat as a place to initiate the punch. So basically there are a myriad of ways to cause any specific movement. Maybe it's just me. I can get pretty detailed literal about body movements etc. It's just the way my brain works. As opposed to many people who can learn A then B then C - I can't because my brain can't make any sense out of A until it understands ABCD. My brain needs to see the entire picture before it can correctly carry out different parts. If I tell you to turn, or rotate, and walk away, what are the chances that you turn or rotate the way I assume you are going to rotate or turn..? Yikes - anyway - For me personally If I am asked to do something I need to understand the purpose of doing that thing before I can do it. What is the ultimate goal of drivingly elbow? What am I hoping that will cause to happen? Uh boy... Ok I'll let you get back to you life. Thank you

If you have an inside to out swing and still start with a straight ball flight 200yds then goes right like a rocket what would that mean? Only way I get a straight shot is by setting up with my lead shoulder aimed directly at target then it goes 300 + any ideas I’m stuck at this point
@russellheritagegolf3 жыл бұрын
I think you would need to check your alignment before making too many other assumptions
@Jman-co7xw3 жыл бұрын
@@russellheritagegolf shouldn’t the lead shoulder be slightly left off target? Swing is definitely from the inside just seems to be slightly out to in at contact almost like release is either to early or I’m too far behind ball. I set up with it just inside of left heel but maybe that’s just to forward for me. In a nutshell I feel like I’m not striking at the center of my swing arc.
