@@transportevolved They're hackers, not developers. They aren't selling their own systems, they're hacking other people's. When they have their own systems on the market that anybody can buy (like the OP mentioned: Bosch, Siemens, etc.) you can call them developers.

I am often unsure about EV conversions of classics because with something such as a Ferrari the engine is often where the soul of the car is. In the case of a Rolls Royce however, it makes perfect sense to make something as quiet and smooth as possible.

Just WOW. Fantastic really ingenious !

Amazing! I’m so impressed with the build quality! One thing I’d like to know is how does it charge, and can it supercharge? I mean with the cars computer functioning and the parts not coming from a total loss vehicle, I could say chances are good!

This is the same car seen on pawn stars....the seller wanted $350,000 and Rick offered $50 ,000 so...no deal....sold for 80,000 in auction and thus now electric.

@matttherat86003 жыл бұрын
I saw a Mike Brewers car show the other day where this was being done to various classic cars and I thought the Rolls Royce would be a great candidate for this type of conversion as they had advertising like "as quiet as a shadow", and the fact Sir Henry Royce was an Electrical Engineer, I think he would be pretty chuffed that these conversions are occurring to his vehicles.

@AdamPurcell4 жыл бұрын
Presumably not if it cannot connect to Tesla's servers (the Superchargers rely on the car for the communication).
@bobkable11124 жыл бұрын
@@AdamPurcell The Superchargers have their own communication with Tesla's servers, they don't rely on the car. However, they do ID the specific car. There are fail-safes in place in order to allow legitinate owners to charge without inconvenience in the case of minor non-safety-related issues that might allow them to get away with Supercharging a few times before they get banned, but long term there's no chance they could supercharge without making a deal with Tesla.

I have heard that Tesla can lock you out of their charging network and can even prevent people from fast charging at any level 3 charging station if they choose. I assume that this vehicle would be unable to use the Tesla charging network but because it is connected to a private server, Tesla would be unable to prevent it from using non-Tesla level 3 charging stations. Thoughts?

The thing that gets me about this is that if they spent half the time and resources they use to reverse engineer Tesla hardware on designing their own hardware from scratch they would end up with products that they could easily apply to any vehicle and they would be way ahead of the game. The fact that they don't just proves how far Tesla is ahead of everyone else and how hollow are the claims of all the trash talkers.
