@@johnpetith5523 I wish I could say "great". But, I have the strangest issue, where my computer is refusing to even attempt more than 75fps. The limit of my old screen. I'm not using any old cables or parts to connect my monitor and gpu. I changed frame rate to unlimited (globally), before uninstalling the 2060 drivers. Restarted the system. Ran a quick DDU just to be sure. Restarted again. Installed 7900 XT and drivers (from AMD), restarted the system again. Tested out some games... 60-75fps cap, every time. Checked setting and all sorts... 240Hz on desktop. 75Hz capd in game. I either need to manually do a registry flush. Or try a clean install. Already tried "fixing windows".

No retailer would actually just walk up and say, "Hey man, be sure to check MSI for your latest and greatest Updates, you are going to need them". The card works, it does its thing. Could run for quite awhile before going down for the count, but not at the performance level the buyer is paying for. You can drive a new car with a flat tire, but only for so long.

In Cyberpunk benchmark, the power consumption keeps going up across 3 vBIOS-es. I hope you can include RTX 4070Ti benchmark too in the official review later. That will give viewers an idea how much difference between RTX 4070Ti & RTX 4070Ti Super is. Also at 8.11 there's a typo on L2 cache for RTX 4080. It should be 64MB (Instead of 64GB).

I unfortunately stumbled across your video after my msi ventus arrived, I actually downgraded from a 7900xtx which I had tons of issues with and ended up returning. Over all my day to day gaming experience isn’t massive different frame wise I have lost some frames but the dlss frame generation has made it so that there is barely any noticeable difference, my 7900xtx was massively unstable and the drivers constantly timed out. A quick internet search revealed that there are many many people with the same issue and most could not find a problem. My 6800xt which I had previously was a superb card with no issues and after all is said and done kinda feel like I should have never have upgraded from at all. But to summise I found my 4070ti super to be very stable with great features and decent frame rates. How it stacks up to other cards dosent look great but for me personally the price and performance left me satisfied

The 4070 on the chart is more or less around a 3080 performance at 1080P and 1440P. The 3070 is on average slightly faster than a 4060Ti but with some titles like Cyberpunk it get trounced by the latter. A 3070 comparison would be nice though.. considering its a 70 tier GPU from last generation.

I'm between two minds as to whether to get a 4070 ti super or a 7900 xt. Right now here in Europe the cheapest 7900 XT is 90 euro cheaper than the cheapest 4070ti super. 799 vs 889e.

We've already received a big performance patch last year for 4000 series cards so I doubt it. I'd say go with whichever feature sets that's most useful to you. Both perform quite similarly to one another, this one being able to run heavy Raytracing better and pathtracing, plus DLSS's and its better image quality. The latter also way more efficient (moreso with undervolting) that may save you money in the long run. Is better at Ai processing, has DLSS 3 plus VSR which is pretty awesome for upscaling videos. The 7900XT has a bit more VRAM and slightly faster in normal rasterized games and bit cheaper. There's a driver level frame gen as well, which is nice to have. I'd say its worth the extra $90. Otherwise if you want to save a bit of money you can't go wrong with the 7900XT.

I noticed this issue as well from another reviewer Brian, I personally own a Asus RTX 4080 for 4K duties, And yesterday picked up an Asus Dual 4070 Super. The 4070 Super is performing amazingly and only around 9 percent slower than the regular 4070ti. Keep up the good work and hope this is a software/bios issue. Cheers!

I'm really impressed with the Asus Dual 4070 Super (Size and the looks department) Doesn't have RGB but no biggie for me. 3D Mark with 20 pass stress tests only showed a peak high of 69c. No coil whine that I could hear. No performance regrets for my 1440p monitor. Happy gaming! Peace!

Apparently one of the review videos I watched stated that the non-OC version of the Ventus 3X model had vBIOS issues, but that the OC version doesn't have vBIOS issues. I'm not sure how much differentiation there is between the OC and non-OC version, but yeah... Seems really bizarre... 🤷🤷🤷

Tech Yes Man I just bought a Displayport 2.1 cable it's probably overkill but it was only $13 bucks but capable of 4k @ 240hz data speed @ 80 Gbps. I wanna see if it makes any difference on my 240hz monitor from the generic cable provided. Bought a 4080 open box for 929 euros. The card is huge. It uses the same cooler as the 4090. A 4070 ti new costs the same here. It's a PNY non overclocked. It is limited to 320 watts. It never goes over 310 watts under load that's with the memory overclocked by 1900 mhz and the gpu overclocked 150 mhz. It boosts to 2925 mhz in benchmarks. The maximum temperature under load is 60 degrees celsius. I'm in love. It's the best graphics card I've ever owned. A huge upgrade from the noisy rtx 3080 ti that I sold for 600 euros. I had bought it used for 750 euros. So for 329 euros, I got the best upgrade I've ever had. I had initially bought a 7900 xtx for 949 euros, but I returned it. Yes, it was slightly faster and surprisingly good in ray tracing, but it used 450 watts to do it.

Do you have a hardware method of monitoring the gpu power consumption? Something like der8auer's Wireview attachment or along the lines of similar. It seems to be behaving like an older card I had that was power throttling even though we had more power to spare and plenty of thermal headroom. Can't see the stat text in your video clearly enough as I'm on my phone atm.

I have the MSI 4070 ti Super OC Edition and from booting right off the bat it'll spike at 90% utilization and stay like that the whole time and has really bad micro sutters as well. Completely unable to be used right now and I have updated the VBIOS to the latest and Geforce drivers are up to date as well. I don't know if the card is not liking the riser cable that's in my NZXT H1 or not and I also recently upgraded the PSU from the NZXT 650w SFX-L to a 1000w SFX-L ASUS thor 3.0, I figured was best for the 4070 ti Super OC

Next Gen games are having hardware issues with parts that has no or little cache and VRAM. This is not limited to GPUs but CPU and NVMe. Makes me wonder if this is not a issue with more hardware like RAM. Would be interesting if you could find a way to test this building a PC with all parts that have more cache. Parts like the RTX 4070 Super, RX 7600 XT, 7800X3D should be the fix for this issue. Finding a NVMe with good cache can be tricky because of limited information on the parts.

Hope this vid shows the importance of comparison testing to everyone. If an average gamer got that speciifc card, they might've dismissed it as "a bit weaker than expected". Ventus has always been low tier bottom basement model with plastic backplates. 4070ti Super from Nvidia has a problem. It’s a poor value card with cut down L2 cache to 48MB vs 64 on 4080. $200 for 4GB of VRAM is crazy upsell. Very telling there is no FE card on this.

@@XxAtomic646xX I could be wrong but from what I saw there isnt a great way to fit a 4090 into a y60 and still have decent cooling in my scenario. The card is too close to the glass and with a kit it didn't look like I'd be able to push it farther away without losing the space I need to place my pci capture card. There's replacement panels that allow outside air in, but I'm specifically moving to a y60 because I bought the Persona 3 Reload one, so replacing the panel kind of takes away the point of even having that case. I felt like a slim 4070 ti super was my best option, despite the weak price to performance. That's my thought process at least.

Looks like Nvidia choose to use AD103 for this SKU for the 256-bit bus, just to fit 16GB of memory and disabled as much on-chip resources as feasible to gate keep the performance down -- a whole GPC cluster, 6 more SMs and a quarter of the L2 cache. The price offering is not compelling though.

No, you're not the only one experiencing this with the MSI Ventus model. Hardware Unboxed was informed by Nvidia a day before the embargo for test results are lifted, that there was a potential for a performance issue with the MSI RTX 4070 ti Super Ventus 3x model. It might be as much as a decrease of up to 5% compared to other RTX 4070 ti Super models.

Just flash an Asus TUF vbios onto this MSI Ventus and see if the performance improves. If it doesn't, it's a hardware problem. If it does, it's a vbios issue.

My bet is on Nvidia giving partners the worse ADA103 die batches they have. I've seen some odd reviews where it performs closer to the 4080 which means they probably got lucky on the silicon lottery (or it's because they are the OC models where the power has been upped slightly). EDIT: Gear Seekers review was ugin the OC MSI GPU which scored a lot closer to the 4080. I also think the L2 cache has a big impact.

Bios #3 put a little more juice / power through it 15-20w or so. However nothing notable in Fps as a result. As a owner of a Ventus rtx 3060, i found out after the purchase apparently they're the bottom of the barrel tier of budget models for msi and compared in pricing to other lesser known brands. Seemingly as the cooling solution isnt as good as other models to give it much head room. Thats about all i know about that, to add to the conversation.

4075* fixed. Nvidia set the release date on purpose- you would never get a review out on purpose and this card is a unicorn at £500 but is over priced at its mrsp as said yesterday, Meh but I will use this card next year to replace my 7900 and 6700xt buy selling them up for this. This uses the base 4080 dye and is above the 4070. This is not a casual card by any means but is a card for us that know how to make it better with a few mods. So yes for off the shelf buyers its meh but for nerds it is hell yes.

Nah, the 7900XT is... on average 30-40% faster in rasterization than the 4070S, up zo 65% faster in Remnant II and it even holds a 6% lead over the 4070 Super in Raytracing. Also costs less than the 4070Ti while beating it in Rasterization and ataying competitive in light Raytracing. It's pnly the heavy Raytracing and/or Pathtracing that it really struggles with and looses by a large margin. But then so dies the 4070Ti Super, it needs upscaling to tun that a 60 fps. For 800 UD+Tax!

Could I pair a 4070 with a Xeon E5-1650 v2 (4GHz)? I run at 1440p and am currently very worried that my trusty Oc'ed GTX 1080 (@2024Mhz) won't be able to keep up with more and more demanding games. Or would it be wiser to upgrade fully to a entire new generational platform? I honestly don't game as much as I used to do 10 years ago. These days it's more audio and video production. Any insight would be much appreciated

You can, but probably on DX11 and older APIs you will have a big bottleneck, yet still older games demand much less resource. I would say a decent upgrade without overexpending a lot of money would be to pick a Ryzen 5000 cpu with an A520 or B450 mobo used. X99 these days is the best budget way to go with a CPU that has AVX2 instructions, but one of these vs X79 I wouldn't say it has much difference in performance. Probably the biggest reasons you should upgrade is either you have very CPU load focused tasks like video editing, or you are into e-sport type titles that need a lot of high fps and quick CPU timeframes.

Just a thing for you to remember, Windows 10 support is getting turned off towards the end of next year, your E5 Xeon can't run Win11 officially, so you will probably looking to change your CPU at some point soon anyway, you just need to decide if you can do another upgrade then, or do it now.

Hardware unboxed didn’t have as much problems as you so sounds like an Infi able with software issue. Probably a quality control issue.

Nvidia just released a new drivers today - 551.23 . Maybe that'll fix the performance issues with some cards..

even the non msi version was rather underwhelming. a minor bump in cuda cores and the more vram isnt' a bad thing, but cutting the L2 cache to match the TI on an AD103 die isn't doing it any any favors. It's almost like this was by design to drive people to spending more money for the 4080S. THey could have just named this the 16gb 4070ti like they did the 4060ti.

These ti supers are really disappointing. Hoping firmware updates will improve performance across all the brands with time. Or these cut down bottom of the bin AD103s are just junk compared to last batch... 🤔
