While watching this scene I was playing in my mind what is the most satisfying way to extract revenge, who should he shoot first if I was him? And then it went too quickly. I think the movie writers didn't want the main character to be too vilified.

This movie as a whole had awesome cinematography. Its semi rare to be impressed by a shot while viewing but several times in this flick I had that feeling. There's a shot wherein the protagonist has like shattered glass reflecting her in the background and it immediately resonated with me as an expression of the chaos and confusion she is going through. La bestia Benicio del Toro. Su sola presencia es ya imponente. Un talento descomunal y sin duda uno de los mejores actores de los últimos 30 años.
@CommunityGuidelinezАй бұрын
The most important part of this scene was Benicios next line, "Go ahead and finish your dinner," followed by his long exhale of breath while he made himself comfortable. He showed him the pain that he felt when he lost his daughter, to see his family dead before him while he grieved. His desire was to watch him learn exactly how personal his loss was. Beautifully executed.
@mioda310929 күн бұрын
What really elevates this scene in addition to what you said is how raw the whole scene feels. The night time outdoor ambience, the lack of any music, and no over the top fight gives this scene a sort of visceral feeling to the whole thing.

I absolutely love this man, but to think that at 37 years of age, Snatch with BDT, Jason Statham, Brad Pitt, Alan Ford, Dennis Farina and Vinnie Jones was probably one of the first movies that I ever saw of his, and Jason's in particular, makes it honestly laughable, because those 2 actors played such different roles in that movie as opposed to all of the other Bad Ass characters that they've taken on for decades since, and it honestly just makes me appreciate the genius of Guy Ritchie, one of my top 3 favorite director/producers, that much more due to what he was able to accomplish with them in that movie, which is also in my top 5, because it is absolutely hilarious as I honestly can't tell you how many times that I've watched that movie because it must be in the high 100's as of now tbh 🤣✌.

@@dodumichalcevskiThe movie legit isn't about morals. The man started out with morals, trying to do the right thing, and as a resultz his wife has her head cut clean off, and his daughter is forced to bathe in an acid bath. The good man that he was died, and this is what is left. One famous qoute that fits this movie perfectly (in my opinion at least is) "I am the punishment of God. Had you not committed Great sins, such an evil like me would not have been sent after you."

Benecio Del Toro is ALWAYS an amazing actor, no matter if what he's doing will be recieved as good or bad, usually good. From more quiet and tragic roles like this, to more sophisticated and intelligent roles like the Collector in "Guardians of the Galaxy", to more over-the-top and hammy roles such as Dr. Gonzo in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."

@@TheArsenalgunner28What was the original ending supposed to be?
@TheArsenalgunner284 ай бұрын
@@Billy-bc8pk I think it happens basically the same as this, but instead the sicario makes kate take her clothes off and mocks at her body/bruises back in her apartment. Which seems odd for his character, especially in this scene. Im sure devive had something in mind for that but it suits the character more that it ended the way it did. Because it’d be hard to imagine how the original ending followed this scene
@sillythygoose3 ай бұрын
@@TheArsenalgunner28 That would be a terrible ending and I'm happy the changed it if that's true. Throughout the whole movie you get the sense that Alejandro respects Kate and he even says she reminds him of his daughter. It would make no sense for him to do that.
@TheArsenalgunner283 ай бұрын
@@sillythygoose well he does put a gun to her head at the end. But yeah, the cynical nature of making someone strip while mocking them doesnt fit everything else in the movie. @@brokl26 Besides just being cinematically striking and brilliant acting, I think people slept on the fact that it successfully switched protagonists through the film. It starts you on the journey with Emily Blunts character and by the end you went on Benicio Del toros journey (which leads him into the sequel). Its one of the few films in history to successfully do that. And the soundtrack is amazing (the beast!)
