Fun story in relation to Sweden being dragged into the 2nd World War. In the Napoleonic Wars Britain attacked the Danish fleet at port, forcing Denmark into the war on Napoleon's side, then when they lost made them make territorial concessions to Sweden. Also Sweden didn't help in 1964, so Denmark has loads of reasons to take revenge.

Y'know, if you just put your basic binary division on port defence you can usually hold off naval invasions with a few coastal forts for help. That said you still have few resources and little manpower so yeah.. As for why Japan has land in Latvia, Latvia probably did a communist coup and joined the Comintern and since Japan was helping White Russia in the civil war in return for becoming their puppet, Japan was part of the peace deal when the USSR collapsed with communist Latvia in it. Happened to me once as well.
