But I only started to feel attracted to cats after I turned 20. 😹 Before that, I was a dog person. 😹 I was going through a lot of terrible times in my life, and at that time, a black cat that happened to be outside started to get attached to me and started acting strangely, but I found it more healing than being with people, and that's what started it all. 😹

so glad he was adopted, especially at ten. plenty of domestic cats live past 18-19 years, so he's much less a senior and more in the middle of a happy life :). he has plenty of years to still be kittenish and enjoy life to the fullest before he starts slowing. so glad he has a home, because i can't imagine how lonely he must have felt being at that shelter at such an age. glad he's got a place to call home forever and someone he can rely on to always be there for him.

I adopted a kitten years ago from our local shelter. He was an orange kitten and the smallest in the litter, so we named him Peanut. The reason no one wanted him was because he had terrible stomach issues. He was either very constipated, or had bad diarrhea. After months of vet trips, medicines, potty accidents and daily baths, he turned a corner and his health improved! But he still loved to take a nice warm bath as often as possible. 🧡

Adopting older cats is the best! I adopted an older cat from a shelter that was set to be put down because he has FIV. I’ve had him for about 6-7 years and he’s definitely got some good years left ahead of him. Just because cats are “older” doesn’t mean they aren’t lovable and can’t give love. In fact, I’ve found that older cats are more calm and more loving than younger cats.
