That is an updated version of the Isuzu Amigo. I had a 93 4x4 manual transmission and OMG I miss it. That was the most fun! Now if this was in production I would try to be the first to get it!

The Hilux is only marginally smaller than the Tacoma, it's in the mid-size class. In fact, there is no mainstream body on frame truck sold anywhere in the world classified as small since the late 2000s that isn't a Kei truck. The next gen-Hilux coming out in 2025 will be based on the current platform that the Tacoma and Tundra sit on.

Some of the coolest things are in the details- With all the truck products going to GA-F, The rear tundra axle swap will become very interesting to match LT front suspension. Maybe a front "Tundra swap" like the Titan swap on Frontiers will become a thing. I dig the Pro-Runner front bumper. Hopefully we'll get at least a TRD-OR ExtraCab.

The 4Runner Surf is a cool concept, but I surf too, and I can’t picture myself pulling up to a spot with a ride that’s got those graphics on the sides and says TRD SURF😅. On the other hand, the Baja Jimmy Johnson Tacoma is sick, even though I’m not usually into graphics in general. What you said about the ISO Dynamic seats is legit, they should’ve made an access cab version.

I’ve installed a cold air intake, the OTT, custom 2 tone paint, (White over Red Metallic). Katzkin Lava Red Leather interior. Modem Bronze wheels with Falken Wildpeak AT3W A /T tires. Power running boards, AWE dual exhaust. Full skid plates; Engine, transfer case, transmission (including the catalytic converters), rear differential and gas tank. This is how I’ve modified my 23 Tacoma TRD OR DC, 6’ bed truck.

Pretty much going to be the case all over the World for future Toyota trucks, or most truck for that matter. I think only the Ranger can you get either a 2.7L or 3.0L TT V6, everything thing else in the mid-size class is a 4 banger gas turbo. Now, if Toyota were to bring their 2.8L Turbo Diesel 4-banger, that would be a different story, though wouldn't pass emissions.

They made several gasoline turbos for car and sport car applications, along with a 80s era turbo 4 cylinder for the Toyota truck, but nothing substantial in modern terms with trucks and SUVs that isn't diesel.

Right on with the three things you said to add to the Surf, I like that you can have the top off and still be kind of protected if it starts storming. Along with the three things you mentioned I would want some kind of sunroof to bring more of the open concept into the front seat area
