I have a ‘23 and it never fails to bring a smile to my face when riding. You cannot compare it to the Pan Am. The engines are built differently and have diff powerbands for their respective purposes. Plus you can always tune the Sportster S and unlock its full potential. Its straight up savage when needed. Good review!

Thank you very much man. I love this thing It really does put a smile on my face. Even just sitting around. I ride sport bikes fairly regularly 1000, 600, and I think the power is enough a tune and exhaust for unlocking it but I wouldn't really do performance mods even if they are available.

Don’t you think it’s enough ? You can get over 30 years of the same Sporster. If you really want one you can find one. New, old, high miles, low miles. There are millions out there. 2x4 sticks of wood arnt even 2” by 4” anymore lol. Shit changes. Are you planning on buying a new version of the same bike every single year ? Kawasaki even changed the KLR650 like it’s time bro lol.

@@USNVA-yn6cp problem is, they can't continue making the old Sportster. EPA regulations screwed that up for them. Under a certain displacement, stricter emission requirements are coming real soon so HD had to move over to the Revmax. It sucks, but they had to do it.

“Had to”. They didn’t have to make the rev max. They could have done what is happening with the M8. Redesign of certain things and kept it overall the same. They wanted to make something very different.

@@NostalgicMotorcycles no, they literally had to. It would have been impossible to make a traditional air cooled twin that ran under the emissions requirements and was under 1200cc displacement. The emission requirements are much higher than the 1750-1860cc M8's

You are on point with this video. I have ridden many motorcycles over the years from cruisers, dirt bikes and many sport bikes and currently own a 2021 Kawasaki ZX10R and a 2020 Yamaha Bolt plus we have another zx10r and 2021 Indian Scout in the Garage. I love speed but love torque more. As I was getting a bit older I wanted a more comfortable cruiser style bike. Sadly I was disappointed in all of the normal cruisers that were heavy and lower powered and well slow unless I paid over 20k. To get to the point this power to weight ratio on this new Sportster S against many other smaller cruisers in similar category and price (I did over 20) is pretty awesome plus under 20k and can get a used one for under 15k. Plus includes keyless remote start (FOB in the pocket), Color TFT display with lots of extra information, navigation on screen, cruise control, optional heated grips, and many other features I am not going to list. I have read many great reviews and read many bad comments but you have to take the good and the bad. To all people, there is NO perfect motorcycle as I have owned and tried to find that perfect mix. heck have 4 in my garage we play with daily, lol. Now many do not realize this is NOT your older ugly boring Sportster (i called them baby Harleys), that many relate to, as this is the newest designed 2021+ Sportster S with all new design, engine, tech and much more. Honestly I think they should have called this something different like the Dragon or beast or something cooler. I finally decided to test ride one yesterday I was skeptical as I have never been a fan of Harley, but said what the heck let's try it out. So the Dealer handed me a 2023 Sportster S and went over some controls and modes (as there are 5), and then I went riding. Put it in Sport mode, duh. Well right off the get go, I noticed I have to be a bit easy on that throttle as it for sure has more torque then our Kawasaki ZX10R, Yamaha bolt and Indian Scout Bobber. Anyway, while on the highway I was cruising at 70mph and noticed no suspension issues on bumps as others would say. I actually liked the cushy feel of the front tire. So I was thinking well lets do this "Dropped 2 gears and disappear" and of course the infamous "Pin it to win it!" and HOLY HELL, I was about pulled off the seat, lmao. I was grinning ear to ear and laughed thinking 'Harley made this' and well I was sold on it. I heard it can do around 150mph, which is a bit fast for a cruiser but if you need it, then it is there. BTW, it will get you to 100mph super fast. Remember torque is what gets you there (low rpm) and HP (high RPM) is more for top speed. Of course it has front BREMBO brakes and the motorcycle will stop good, as we are not doing a front stunt stoppie, smh. Yes, the stock exhaust sounds like crud, but I prefer power over sound and with an aftermarket exhaust it will sound better. Tip, for sure get an aftermarket front fairing or windscreen as at over 70mph that wind sucks. Totally agree this is NOT your typical Harley.

@NostalgicMotorcycles Ай бұрын
Haha dam that’s a lot but I get it. This bike is not made for evo sporty, dyna, or so frail ridders. It shows. I think this bike can take sport bike riders as yourself and I and humble you to the possibility a cruiser can be fast. Not top end your not going to do 190+ but from 30-40 to (speed limited) 136 it’s a bat out of hell. Solo rides and small rips where you get the zoomies my god does it pull hard. It’s not a go fast highway bike but I cruise on this bike 100ish on the highway fairly regularly and besides the wind (which sucks) it handles it well. It’s a powerhouse and true muscle cruiser. Glad you got to enjoy one and had the openness to give it a try. Now go to your local Indian dealer and ride the new 2025 scout lineup and see what you think lol. Less mid range punch but more carry towards the top end than the SS with slightly more comfort cruiser ergos the new speed plus is also a beast. And I own the Sportster S. The sportster is more brace yourself fast but they should be equal in speed (I’ve ridden both)

The light set up on the back is butt ugly and the bulbus exaust ugh thanks to the EPA.. believe it or not a sportster is not a beginners bike and is top heavy its a go to work type bike lol
@NostalgicMotorcycles
@NostalgicMotorcycles 6 ай бұрын
The Light setup meets legal guidelines its not aesthetic its what legally needs to be there. They couldn't make it any easier to remove and replace its 2 bolts and a plug. Kind of the same with the exhaust. Thats really not anything any manufacturer can control and the best thing we can ask for is an easy work around which we got. Thats a win in the books for me. As far a sportster not being a beginner bike. For this one specifically Id agree. not any another. If you think a sportster is top heavy. I would encourage trying out different bikes and see how they compare to each other.

I'm not sure I see the hate you're talking about. I did say I wasn't planning on buying one. I don't know how that can translate into hate. I can say if Harley starts to switch it up and make more bikes for more people they probably will get people to come around lol. Thats how it works you make something someone likes they will probably buy it. This bike happened to be it for me. That does not mean I cant appreciate the other bikes they have had in the past. You are right, that should not be a Harley and they are losing their base customers with their new made in China motorcycles.
@NostalgicMotorcycles
@NostalgicMotorcycles 6 ай бұрын
Thats a common point of reference for a lot of people. I do have a question. How does Harley Making more bikes for more/different people affect the base customer? They did not replace the base product with this. This is an addition for new people with little to no effect on the tried-and-true customer base of Harley that will not outlive time. And China Bikes are sold to the China market. It's cheaper to make Chinese models in China. Than make in America and have to pay to ship and export yada yada. Those American made bikes would cost too much to sell in another country so them make them there to sell there. The bikes sold in America are made in America. The bikes sold in China are made in China. Is this something you are aware of?

@@NostalgicMotorcycles The China made bikes are sold outside of China as well, and this ROBS Americans of work. I know for certain the X350 is available in Australia, and probably every other country around the word. America can't afford to lose any more manufacturing positions, AMERICA 1ST.

Yes as you are correct as American bikes are sold in Canada and Mexico and South America. Chinese bikes are sold on the continent they exist as well lol. So what you see is what you get. how you feel is how you feel. If you like the bike and the exhaust is the only thing holding you back you can get a pan America header and move the exhaust below your foot (mid controls are a must for this).
