Suwa is located in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. There is a large lake there, which often appears in this anime. The lake also appears in the famous Japanese animated film "Your name".

btw mistranslation by the tl the uncle became one of the most brutal/infamous in history because he betrayed his nephew, but his actual ending is sentenced to death by takauji gang because thats just such a pos act and the people wanted him dead, he ran away and died a beggar just like shown in the anime if tokiyuki didnt kill him

Been thinking about this random mistranslation and it feels like such a glaring mistake I'm surprised it made it through a translator application or translator person. Quite a stark difference between 'went on to be one of the most brutal warlords' and 'sentenced to death almost immediately and lived in poverty'.

@@SantaClaus-kk8zr It was probably allowed because the frames it was on did not reflect that he was particularly reviled. While that’s absolutely the context and appropriate phrasing for what was said, what’s shown doesn’t _quite_ give that image, probably.

The successors of the Hojo clan never became Shogun. Instead, they held the title of "Shikken," the regent of the Kamakura Shogunate. For a long time, the Emperor was merely a puppet of the Shogun. In turn, the Shogun was a puppet of the Hojo clan's Shikken. Even a Shikken like Tokiyuki's father was manipulated by his own servants. The megalomaniacal Emperor Go-Daigo grew tired of this puppet show and aspired to be a true ruler. The Emperor's ambition influenced Takauji, who then awakened the plans for the Muromachi Shogunate. This was the trigger for a chaotic tragedy.

Jeez, no wonder the government collapsed so quickly. The royal figurehead was controlled by a dictator, who in turn was manipulated by a glorified caretaker, who in turn was being exploited by his own flunkies. Rather than a rebellion or a coup, it's honestly just people trying to figure out who's actually in charge.

Suwa God is one of the most well-known Japanese gods worldwide, i gess. He is the god of war who brought the "kamikaze" (God's wind) and is revered by samurai.
