You have to remember that this is one of if not the most self-insert, wish fulfillment, purview ranting fan fiction of the writer's own life that has ever been given corporate distribution, so the only way this toxic sludge of anti-entertainment can be viewed is as the opinions and a reflection of Mindy Kaling's own incorrigibly narcissistic, repugnant, worthless existence. So what I got from Daphony forcing herself on VelMindi during another one of her psychotic episodes was Kaling saying "I wouldn't be so crazy if someone would just have sex with me." The Little Platoon said that if this venomous diatribe was written by a man, they'd be universally branded as an incel. He's wrong; this already IS written by an incel: Mindi Kaling. May she die in affect misery, never again knowing the sensations from man meat.

I had been watching What's Up Scooby Doo? I don't know why Fred is the rich one in this self-insert, when in the original Scooby Doo, I got the impression that Daphne is the rich one. Then again, Self-Insert Mindy had driven me to watch the older Scooby Doo tv series.

Yeah, Daphne was always more of the rich popular girl, Fred was supposed to be the dependable jock type, Velma was the smart one who you could see being unpopular, and Shaggy was supposed to be a beatnik and of course Scooby-Doo was the mascot and Shaggy's best friend. People from all sorts of backgrounds and personalities coming together through friendship and solving mysteries. It was a great show, with a great premise that is actually more inclusive than most woke shows nowadays because it showed people coming together without ever needing to preach or exclude straight white guys.

ive always assumed Fred was also rich. The dude wears a damn ascot. and he has always been the owner of the mystery machine. Fred dresses just as nice, acts just as classy, and has more expensive things, than Daphne. In all honesty, everyone but Shaggy and Scooby could be very wealthy, Velma wears fairly nice clothes, acts classy, and isnt she the one constantly pulling out scientific equipment? that stuff isnt cheap. Meanwhile Shag and Scoob are busy eating any free food and dressing very simple.

I don't think I've heard anyone talk about this, but the cast here is supposed to be 15. Not 16, not 18, but 15. Fred was thrown in PRISON AT 15. They held a trial for an adult when he's JUST 15. Not even talking about the nudity and sexualization of Daphne and the other girls, but holy shit thrown in prison when your that young is actually disgusting.

The bit about Not-Shaggy saying he got banned because of Not-Velma's "spicy take" is likely supposed to reference Twitch's ban happy admins. I say "supposed to", because it also leaves out how notoriously inconsistent Twitch's application of their ToS is, notably favoring simp-bait like Pokimane and uber-leftie channels like Hasan Piker, so whatever "spicy take" Not-Velma could make would likely get a free pass. Plus the whole thing of Not-Shaggy's chat turning on him would also be unlikely; if anything, they would have immediately started simping for Not-Velma.

The show frequently just gets its commentary wrong. Like Velma talking about how she wishes she was a white man so she could get away with crimes- women regardless of race or income are more likely to beat charges and more likely to get lesser sentences than men.

I've been wondering if the nude scenes break Australian law, but I expect the government would turn a blind eye to hbo unless really pressured. Underaged nudity, sexual situations? You know what now that you say it this show very is like a dumber Office wearing scooby skin. I can easily imagine Jim or Pam sitting at home watching tv and seeing “micheal Scott arrested for murder” and them saying “makes sense” so clearly it feels like they stole that exact scene from the show.

What really gets me is how malicious it all feels. Towards the franchise, the characters and the audience. And as for the messages... Look, I think that it's perfectly possible (and even interesting, if it's done well) to have, say, a show that includes a commentary on white people getting preferential treatment from the police. But if that's what you're going for, you absolutely cannot have the minority character questioned by the police without bodily harm and then let go because there's no evidence (and later not even being reprimanded for breaking and entering), and then in the same breath have the white guy arrested without questioning, very seriously injuring him in the process, and then put on trial and thrown in jail despite there being no evidence to suggest he's guilty whatsoever. Velma saying that if she were a rich, white guy, she'd murder people as well just to get away with it makes no sense in a world where Fred can't even get away with a murder he obviously had absolutely nothing to do with.
