Thanks. I have seen many reaction videos of this. Your's is among the best. It is not a championship performance, but really close. This a favorite video for many Phantom Phans. Including myself! This era is fun to watch. Less military than when I marched 1975 and 76 with Guardsmen (also from Illinois like Phantom). Love the new era too, but something to be said about this era no amplification and few props. Beautiful show! Thanks for enjoying the great activity of drum corps! And to who have marched with Phantom and to their support staff, and Phans........ SUTA!! 🎉❤😊

I'll be honest, I've come to appreciate early 2000s Phantom ALOT more than I use to. Shows like Harmonic Journey, Faust, and On Air are absolutely amazing shows that I think deserve every bit of positive attention they get. While this may not be a request, Blue Knights 2014 is a show that never fails to make me tear up, I'd definitely give it a listen at one point. Good video.

Great reaction! I love your emotion when you were reacting. The musical arrangement is spectacular and the members are so talented. This show is one of the most popular shows in drum corps history for good reason. This show has everything you would want in drum corps show and has impacted drum corps today. Also, regarding future DCI content. My next few uploads may be Gaming related, but that's because I have another DCI project on the backburner right now. It's gonna be a shorter video than my "Modern Vs. Classic" video, but it'll be covering an "Incident" that I have seen absolutely no videos about. It's a truly fascinating event that I want to cover.

Man, if you haven’t, watch Phantom Regiment 1996. It tied for first, and for really good reason. It’s an amazingly-barren and deliberate show.

I wish 2021 would've been a full season, they didn't have a show in Nashville this year and that bummed me out because I really wanted to see Harmonic Journey for myself. I was only 3 when they performed it originally, so I was really hoping I'd get to see it. Unfortunately, I just gotta watch the videos lol.

Now imagine you were at your first DCI Finals and were one of a few thousand people that stayed all night after the Thunderstorm delay at Quarterfinals and they resolve that final chord for the first time all season at 11:45 PM.

Whats really apparent to me when you listen back to these older videos is how much the synths and mic'd pit covers the details of the horn line. Listen to these contras and how you can hear every note. I dont think it's a playing issue, today's kids are at least good as the folks from 2003, but when you listen to the videos of this years show all those great contra lines get lost. It's hard to win a battle against a volume knob.

We haven't seen any fully mastered shows from this season yet. Flomarching is absolutely terrible at balancing audio and getting microphones correct. But I do agree with your point that electronics are more prominent, and less aimed at enhancing the written music. However personally, I do enjoy the way that shows have been made in recent years. But those older shows truly are special and iconic.

PAUL RENNICK! I knew his last name started with an R but I forgot his name. I've heard so many good things about him and how talented he is. I know not having his book in the 2021 show has ruffled some feathers, but come on, you can't beat perfection!

@@squillz8310 Yeah, they won percussion several years he was there, and then he left for SCV where he (and his wife, who arranges front ensemble) has been ever since. SCV has won percussion the last 4 years in a row. I do admit the new battery book is a little off-putting for me, but this is my era of drum corps and I'm used to the old book. I won't make a judgment until I see the show in person. It's very different.

Just like what JD Shaw said on last Phan-A-Thon. If people want to have a good brass, they'd go to Crown. If they want good drumline, they'd go to Vanguard. But if they want to get emotional, they would go for Phantom Regiment

Great reaction! This is my first time watching you and I immediately subscribed. Not knowing you or your background in this Sport, you seem to have a great knowledge of DCI. This show is really good but, to me, their “From a New World to a New Age” was their best. But of course, Mew World Symphony is my all-time favorite piece of work. 😊 Yes, it’s better than The Planets, which I adore! Take a look at it if you like. My 2nd favorite Phantom show. 89 is still my favorite. Along with Bluecoats 14 and 19 the best shows that didn't win.

Definitely! Itll really depend on how hard FloMarching or DCI is on the Copyright takedowns. I'll have to keep an eye on how many videos go down and how often. But if things look well, I'll definitely react to both shows. I'm liking the way they're turning out already. I'm honestly the most excited to hear Bostons show.
