thanks so much for sharing this. Got recommended to me and after I heard the sounds you made I went to get it immediately. Having a ton of fun playing with this and definitely going to try using it and actually setting up automation for it in my next track. Something that I found really cool was turning the feedback up to 125% and mix to like 80, then just playing with the pitch (tuned to the strings I'm using it on), lowpass, and spread :) I think I'm gonna try to make a bass sound with it. Any more free dope plugins you hear abt you should definitely make a video on. Very grateful I saw this in time

I often use the reverb plugin Raum, not just for big, spacey reverb, but also for its feedback section. It’s been inspiring for sound design. However, you can dial in the note with Rift...very cool. With Raum, you need to dial in the frequency value, so you end up using your ears.

I love convolver for this, its a creative reverb and a half as well as a delay. Changed my atmos for ages.

Rift was also one of my favorite plugins of 2021 as well. I LOVED the filter which i used a lot when i just needed a standalone filter (Animated parameters with Abletons LFO plugins) Rift was an instant buy. I love that every few weeks they send out sample packs as well. Interesting sound design stuff. When I saw this new freebie I immediately downloaded it and installed it. I used it on a track i was working on to process an aggro bassline and tune it slightly. I used loops that i think were slightly out of tune and it added some nice resonance to it. I might also add some lfos to animate some of the parameters.

Dissonance is what it is called i believe. Creating a sound that morphs from something harmonious into something inharmonious i think would be called moving from Consonance to dissonance in music theory terms. Personally i love that kind of contrast since it creates a sort of tension release scenario if done right. The dissonance adding tension and the consonance creating a release.
@DashGlitch3 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, it was on the top of my tongue, thx
@GeorgeLocke2 жыл бұрын
11:30 "inharmonicity" also works in this context. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inharmonicity - I guess it's a matter of emphasis? When I think of dissonance, I think of the relationship of "different notes", whereas "inharmonicity" makes me think of relationships within the timbre/spectrum of "one note."

@jedimindtrix21423 жыл бұрын
You should experiment with Serum and the Kontakt 6 player as well. Mix the electronic sounds in with your music. You can make electronic music without it being "EDM" and the possibilities are limitless. nothing more fun than throwing guitar and real instruments in with synths. Serums wave table synth is amazing. I have it and the Kontakt 6 package.

You have a very interesting way of labeling your tracks. I see you have the base name of the synth. Serum x64, Vital, Delay. lol. I mean everyone has their own work flow. I used to not label my stuff. However I noticed after I started coloring all my tracks in a standard way. (dark red for drums, yellow for synth leads, dark blue for bass, purple for effects and pads, etc) and I named them based on what was going on my organization and workflow management increased a lot. I'm assuming you maybe just didn't bother with it for the video? You pretty advanced to not label your stuff!
