That’s a very negative and discouraging attitude to have, and it shows the faulty logic society wants us to believe. Using your logic, not everyone looks as beautiful as she did when coloring her hair. Every woman I’ve followed in the silver sisters world looks better with their natural grey than with dye, especially if they have a lot of grey/silver hair and have to color every few weeks. With dye their skin looks pale and unflattering, but with their natural color their skin looks so much healthier. I never got compliments on my hair from random strangers until I let my hair be natural. Now I get compliments from strangers all the time, and most of them are men. The best part is I feel authentic and much healthier.

I'm curious as well...I started getting gray around 9 or 10 but only on one spot in the front. By the time I was in my early 20's if I did would have not been coloring my hair I would have been completely white headed. I had dark brown almost black hair so the streak of gray in the front was my "skunk" streak. My great grandmother would tell me it was my native american blood...her and my great aunt had the same streak. I’m 35 & started to go grey a few years ago already.... I love that the young(er) 😜 folks have embraced grey as a trend! It’s kind of passed now but it makes me feel like its easier for me to go either way and not feel like i “look old”, because it can be a beautiful hair color on any age! I really like my silver streak, but I’m not ready for my all-over salt & pepper to be coming in. So I just wash over it with a very light concentration of henna, mixed with cassia, and it just turns them into strawberry blonde 🍓🌞🙂 that way the difference in color isn’t so big that there’s a line of demarkation, so it doesn’t really matter to me if my roots grow out, its actually really low maintenance. I could easily lighten it back up to Platinum or Silver if I wanted to let more of my grey come in. I think where women get into trouble is they try to go too dark, so then they get stuck into keeping up with root touch ups, because the line of demarkation is so harsh and obvious if you’re not sticking to a shade closer to the natural color. So a dark brown on light grey hair is super high maintenance! Ive even seen women rock their grow out though & not even care it’s a two-toned skunky look. That can be cool too. I really think its about self-acceptance, when you just don’t give a fuck anymore, and you rock whatever it is that’s happening on your head (lol) - thats when it becomes “cool” 😉😎 but hey, imitation is the highest form of flattery so, be nice to the young girls! Lol don’t you remember how hard it was to be that young & insecure? 🥺😝

I’m in my early 40s and I let my hair go gray for 2 years. While my hair was beautiful and healthy it did make me look years older. When I died my hair back brown it took years off me. I loved the gray but not yet. *Her gray is beautiful!

Agree with Jin Cruce 99 trillion % The reason is b/c the effort of concealing grey hair is what is causing stress; especially after 50 years old. The acceptance of letting the hair grey naturally is a sign of maturity.

I’m fairly certain I’m mature at my age. I’m a sitting judge, attorney, 25 year military officer and combat veteran who’s a two time cancer survivor who’s raised 4 kids and has a fifth on the way via gestational carrier. And I color my hair. Not coloring your hair doesn’t have a damn thing to do with “maturity.” 🙄😡

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I totally agree! So tired of dying my hair. I had black hair and I don't have gray but WHITE so it's so obvious I am constantly dying it. All that said, sorry yes you are beautiful (really!) but boy do you look super with dark hair! I tried to let mine grow out during lockdown but hated it. Looks so washed out. It's not just a question of looking old but looking so-so as compared to great. Not trying to change opinions but I think I'll keep dying at least for now ;-))

OMG! I completely agree with you. I tried letting my gray hair grow out and I got terribly depressed. It aged me 15+ years. I will continue coloring my hair.

Exactly! I cut my very long hair in 2019 to let my gray grow out. I’ve finished the growing out process in Jan 2021. I’m only 41, but now that I’m trying to grow my hair long with the gray, I don’t like it. I’m considering dying it again 😲. I still “look” young. People think I’m in my mid-20’s still, but I don’t like the pattern of my gray. This woman has beautiful thick, luscious hair. Her gray pattern is amazing. Mine ended up like more pepper than salt and it looks like a bad 2000’s highlight job. You know the one with the cap that you pull your hair through 😂. I’m still debating! Throw almost 2 years away and cutting my long hair for this grow out process or just wait it out….🤔

She may have let her hair go grey but I bet she has a 8 step skin care routine. And I'm absolutely not knocking her for it. Whatever she's doing seems to be working. My hair has been dyed so many times a have a color wheel on my drivers license 😆..

Problem being I’m not stunning or have the money to have it evened out how she has. If I embrace grey i look older or my age and get judged even more.

Don't worry about being judged! People are always giving their opinions lol. It should be however you feel comfortable. She is beautiful either way. But the grey makes her look older. Some of us just don't want to get old🤣🤭. I guess we will sooner or later grow to love and embrace our grey!

@Roxie Beckles ... A word of caution from one sista to another ... Knowledge is power. Black hair dye products raise our risk of developing breast cancer by 60%. I dyed my hair for _decades,_ from the early 80's until 2017. Unfortunately, I found a lump that same year and stopped coloring my hair. In 2019 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I wish I had known in my youth what I know now, and had just been content with the hair color God gave me. Of course you are free to choose, but please think long and hard if the tradeoff is worth the long-term risk to your health. God bless you.
@funinthekitchen8443 жыл бұрын
@@AlmondJoie Please who told you that? .. How do you know exactly that it's the hair colour and not everything else you've been stuffing in your body since you were born?! BTW... If you stopped using it in 2017, it can't possibly be in your body two years later when you're diagnosed with breast cancer, and why did they let you go with a lump for two years why didn't they check to see if it was malicious? And you do know that the biggest cause of breast cancer is; being a woman... And of course genetic, you inherited bad genes especially when it comes to breast cancer..
@RedefiningBodybuilding3 жыл бұрын
@@AlmondJoie I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. And, yes they have natural hair dyes like henna. Plus, I don't sit around and obsess about cancer risks. Everything in our world is a cancer risk. That cell phone or tablet folks are using to read this comment right now. The foods people eat, many people do not eat healthy. Air pollution from living in big cities. Perfumes and dyes in clothing. Plus, cancer risk is also hereditarily linked. I have no history of breast or any other kind of cancer in my family. The only family member who did have it was a half aunt whose MOTHER'S side had cancer. She isn't maternally related. Literally everything around us can cause ailments and disease. So folks can live in a bubble, or pick and choose their poisons honestly.
@AlmondJoie3 жыл бұрын
@@funinthekitchen844 The lump was the impetus for my decision to stop using hair color, but I wasn't examined until 2019. I've had lumps before so I didn't rush to the doctor. All that aside, the info is out there so you can read up on it, or not. While there are a whole plethora of other environmental issues that can cause cancer for which we have no control over, there are some things in life that we can choose not to do for the betterment of our health.
