Congrats on a great year. Love the tour. I've been drawing in a sketchbook for the first time and have done a page a day this month. Some days are harder than others but I've enjoyed seeing what I come up with. A few fanarts thrown in. I plan to continue into the new year. And hopefully use it to inspire a product

I completely forgot about missile mouse but that was one of my favorite comic books when I was in elementary school and I cant believe you drew it. Thanks for sharing these videos with us, Jake. Specially when you show us drawings that we think look amazing and you're like "nah, this looks bad because of this and that". That shows us that no matter how much you improve your skills, you'll always find some flaws in your art, which I think it's what makes you get better and better.

Great video Jake (as always)-you've been a HUGE inspiration to me this past year-both as an illustrator and teacher, but also as a human being. I'd love to see a video on "what's next for Skyheart"--I scored one of the last copies and I've enjoyed it so much, particularly knowing how challenging it was for you to finally feel "good enough" to start and finish it. I want to know the rest of the story! and whether or not you're giving any thoughts to having more assistance on bringing more of your stories and images into reality. I'll always watch your paint dry...

I hope I can practice more with my art skills, though it may be hard for me to reach your ability since I'm only in middle-school. I've been so interested with drawing and crafting since when I was little; I would like to compose creative artworks one day just like you.

I had a classmate in Middle School during the late 1980s who was so good at art, that his parents supported his efforts and talents, and after attending art school, he went on to work for Disney. Despite my talents in art, my parents wanted me to build houses or be an auto mechanic. I had to take art classes behind their backs.

4:56 - The Avocado Bot is a wonderful happy accident which works because of its abstract construction, leaving the viewer to play a role in interpreting the artwork as a fruit (or not) and making the sketch more engaging. I feel, though, that the subsequent food bots, while showing excellence in draughtsmanship and execution, are too obvious and not as imaginative as Avocado Bot. Still, it is obvious the fun you had thinking up these sketches and may you continue to inspire. Thumbs up.

Late to the party here, just found your channel this morning. Very cool to have a walk through of one of your sketchbooks. Last week I watched Dune for the first time after a pharmacist I deliver to said "the spice must flow". There was no discussion on the subject but I knew it was a Dune reference as the movie was loosely in my psyche despite never having seen it so, I find it curious to find your 3 year old video with some Dune sketches..life is weird or synchronicity perhaps.

Ok, I'm not even through the vid yet. It would be awesome if you could get the rights & do a graphic novel of Dune, delivered serial-style, chapter-by-chapter or even smaller groups of pages at a time. Baron in particular looks so cool! It would be great for you to include a meta-character of yourself, with illustrated journal notes of the scenes, and/or expository diagrams e.g. the Still Suit. I'm so glad you're making time to do vids again; you're so inspirational and you have such a great art style. :)
