Shakey blows me away all the time with his versatility, and as was mentioned his intensity. I love his work. I was asked by someone rather sarcastically, “if he’s so good why hasn’t he blown up?” Maybe he doesn’t want to sell his soul to the music conglomerates and give up all of his creative freedom. I greatly appreciate him for keeping going, always touring, always innovating without becoming a pawn!

At the beginning of one of his songs, he explains his name. but TLDR: this drunk or high dude came up to their camp once and kept saying Shakey Graves. So they made names for everyone at the camp and he took shakey graves. But it stuck when he told a reporter at a show once.
