Brat Pack is …. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. The term comes from the original movie Oceans Eleven. These men were also supreme actors, brothers in their hearts. There is a documentary film out recently for Dean Martin. It’s called…. The King of Cool. It is narrated by his daughter Deana Martin. Deana was hanging out with Elvis Presley, who told her “They call me the King of Rock and Roll but your Dad… is the King of Cool. Great show, and I messaged her on Facebook. She answered me, very exciting. Since we both come from classic Italian families from Naples Italy, we grew up in similar households with family always coming first. I loved Deano so much. I’m not in the least bit Italian, Irish mostly, but my dad would sing some of his songs as I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and I always equated Deano with Dad. Family first.

The Rat Pack was originally founded by Humphrey Bogart in the 1940s/1950s. They would casually meet at the home of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. The first Rat Pack was Bogart with Errol Flynn, Nat King Cole, Mickey Rooney and Frank Sinatra and others. The Rat Pack led by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop were around the 1960s where they appeared mostly at The Sands Nightclub in Las Vegas. The Rat Pack led by Sinatra would make two films together Ocean’s Eleven and Robin and The Seven Hoods.

My Dad used to watch the Dean Martin Show. I must have been 8 or 9 years old and Dean Martin was my first crush in life...too young to realize that he was partially so smooth and cool because he was smashed out of his gourd most of the time...LOL. I still love him to this day. You need to go watch some of the old Dean Martin roasts.....they would make heads explode in today's climate with some of the stuff said.

This is Dean Martin legendary Italian American Crooner and member of The Rat Pack who were a group of performer friends who sang and did comedy together. The Rat Pack's lead members were the top three of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Junior. These guys did shows all over and did performance work of their own as individual stars. They liked to spend time in Las Vagas back during the during the 60's and 70's.

Even though I'm from the south, this is the music I grew up on. My mom didn't listen to country, she listened to crooners. Some of them were: Nat King Cole (my fav), Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Jerry Vale. You seem to enjoy this music, you should check these out.

While I definitely suggest "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes" and/or "You're Nobody 'Till Somebody Loves You", as two more songs from Dean Martin, the various song selections that others have put forth here already, are all great, and I am sure that whatever you pick next will be also. Although it may have changed now, based on song recordings, radio programs, film, and television recording, Bing Crosby was considered the most-recorded perform in history, was/is considered a quintessential "crooner", and was described by Louis Armstrong as having a voice like "gold being poured out of a cup."
