Many of Ren's songs give us a glimpse of his struggles but this one, perhaps more than most, gives a fuller story. He uses Vera Hall's iconic Troubles So Hard as inspiration for his life and this song, sampling the 1942 tune beautifully. That Hollywood Spat Me Out jacket makes a re-appearance in Chris Webby's song: Baggage, featuring Ren. He's a generational talent, thank you for this lovely reaction, Joyce.

Ren does a live version of this with a reggae rhythm that you might enjoy. Most reactors say it's the best version. It is definitely worth a listen.

Everyone is going to say you need to listen to the chapters that also tell Ren's story... but honestly, you should read them when/if you want to know more details. Ren made this song to stand alone so it could hopefully chart and draw attention to chronic illnesses, you don't *have* to do homework for it. Fans just get overzealous. That said, I do agree you have to do the homework for Kujo Beat Down. It doesn't stand on its own at all 😅 At the very least you need the 35 minute video... but it also helps to be familiar with Hi Ren, Sick Boi and Money Game 3 as they are all referenced in the song. Ren's an amazing rabbithole. Hopefully you won't get overwhelmed by everyone trying to shove it all at you at once.

Ren promised to remember all those still suffering from chronic illness as described He released this for millions MISSING month in May Sadly his Lyme infection has returned he has to go back to Canada for months of intensive treatment This weekend he was filming a music video when he had to be taken to Emergency rooms in hospital for a couple of days If you want something different watch Back on 74 Message in a bottle I would avoid KujoBeatDown unless you have watched the explanation of the reason for it There is a video 35mins long explaining.
