10 years! I remember catching you somewhere back then. So much happened since! I learned medium scale hot composting with no turning in the early 90s and maybe that's what drew me to you then new farm steading venture. I enjoyed you then, and now. Looking at you making Sauer Kraut caught my eye as I was looking for recipes for Amaranth and other original grains. My experience with kraut was dismal, so I enjoyed your instruction. Currently the weight loss and pain from interstial cystitis keeps me on bed, but I use a smart phone to enjoy online interaction. I had a nice woodshop given to me, but it is idle. Maybe one day it will again be the joy of retirement. It's wonderful to see your family growing up and now Daddy's work crew. Good to connect again....

Have you thought about digging down 8-10 inches and then refilling that with the compost? Make like a sunken bed rather than a raised bed.
@daddykirbs2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've thought about that too. It could still happen somewhere in the garden, but I'm really trying to find ways to divorce myself from the weeds that come up from the native soil. We'll see... you know how it is, always an experiment!

Here in the UK we have had a very mild winter so far. But this has resulted in the bees going out to forage but with nothing to collect so they have been eating their stores. I have lost 2 of my 4 colonies and others have lost colonies and that's before the full inspections have started. I have my fingers crossed for you.

This is exciting Daddykirbs. How are your citrus grafting skills? About an hour away and I need to graft.
@daddykirbs2 жыл бұрын
I've had mixed results with grafting. Hit up @TheTexasBoysOurFamilyStory to check out his grafting content. They have had a lot more success with grafting and air layering than I ever have. This is something I really wanted to be good at, but it seems that time got the best of me and I never practiced enough to become that expert.
