Nice rifle / cartridge combination and it’s always nice to find what suits you best. It’s not my cup of tea but I don’t shoot at game at the extended ranges you are contemplating and I don’t climb mountains for sheep. Use what you enjoy and can hit with. 👍🏼

I’ve got a 325 wsm in a browning blr . I bought some Winchester factory ammo loaded with 200 grain accubond ct bullets. The box velocity said 2950 . I shot it through the chronograph and got 2942 the first shot , 2946 the second and 2948 the third . This out of a 20 inch barrel ! The wsm cartridges are very underrated 😊

300WSM is new to me as of late 2022. It's a Tikka stainless T3x. Mine is a modified with my reamer. I opened the chamber 0.002 and lengthened the freebore so a 210 Berger VLD seats out long where the shank/boat tail junction is just forward of the case neck/shoulder junction. I have a 2nd barrel chambered for my Terminus Zeus action. It's a K&P 8 twist #3 contour 4 groove. I received my Brux #3 10 twist to get chambered as well. For the Tikka I have the following that all shoot subMOA to subHalfMOA. I was still waiting on my Garmin to clock speeds so I'm glad I watched this video. I'll have to clock these next weekend 150 Barnes TSX, new Nosler brass uniformed with 339 bushing then over a turn mandrel, annealed, WLRM primer, 72.5 gr Superformance, COL 3.035 168 Barnes TTSX, new Norma brass, same prep, 67.5 gr IMR4350, Federal 215 match primer, COL 3.091 180 Nosler Accubond, 1x fired Norma brass trimmed annealed, 337 bushing sized, then turn mandrel, 215 match primer, 69.0 gr StaBALL 6.5, COL 3.125 I saw several left hand Brownings for sale online, a couple in 300WSM but I passed because I am uncertain if I can get a trigger replacement to where pull is 1.5 pounds or less. Been spoiled with my Jewel's for 25 years. Anything over 1.5 pounds is too much for me to shoot my best.

Hard to beat those Tikka's. My super-lite in 7 Rem Mag shoots very well but it's a pound too heavy to take on a back pack trip with these true ultralights in the safe.

Excellent choice! I used the 300WSM for deer, caribou, black bear, bison and dall sheep. Definitely hits harder than 30-06 IMO. My load was a Barnes 165gr over Reloader 19.

I'll try Rl 19 one of these days.

Good dependable bullet. I use the 160gr tsx in my 7STW Krieger barrel 1:9 twist on a mark v action. Groups well out to 500yds or so. Any further the Berger 175gr elite hunter is more stable and very accurate well past 800yds. I’ve always had an exit with the EH’s at all ranges.

Nice rig but some in Alaska prefer the .338 Win. Mag for more stopping power.

@ed5042 So do I. The most popular cartridge in Alaska is the 30-06 by far.

Looks like a choice considering weight and performance. Its a real shame Browning still isnt making something like this still. Browning quit the Ti rifle and Remington quit theirs as well. Bummer.

If it's really great gear they will stop making it...not sure why but it seems to be often true.

I have a the Tika all weather 300 wsm with the primary arms 1-8 compact and I'm good out to 700 yds. 300wsm was a great choice.

How do you like the 1-8? What kind of reticle does it have? I’m considering a 1-8 for my 30-06.
@brazzy14675 ай бұрын
@@NCWoodlandRoamer I love it, I have two others. One is on my Noveske semi auto 308 and the other is on my Noreen semi auto 30-06. These two rifles I manly use to pig hunt with here in Arkansas. The reticle is a First Focal Plane Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS Griffin MIL M8 Reticle. My 30-06, I had to do my homework to see where the reticle lined up at out to 400 yds. What I like is it has the best 1x I have used so far. A pig charged me and I put a canoe rack in it's head on 1x 20 feet away. For bear/pig defense or hunting optic in my opinion is the best. I'm at the moment testing the Arken optic 1-8 which cost a third of what the primary arms 1-8. I have it on my 30-06 bolt action and it's taken a little more fine tuning because it was designed for 308 and 5.56 but so far the Arken 1-8 is a great optic. Plus the owner of Arken optics was a prior Navy Seal sniper and because I was in the S.F. community my last 13 years in the Army. I like helping out a Veteran owned company. Sorry for the long rant hope this helps.

its based on a lot of shooting at 200-600 yards. 7% flatter trajectory results in slightly less misses on the 8" plates. I could have showed that better but haven't been doing the filming I could have.
