I know they probably won’t see this, but this podcast has carried me through high school, it’s the one thing I looked forward to every week. This podcast started 2 weeks after I started 9th grade and now I’m on my senior year and I have never missed an episode, after watching them I use them as background noise when doing homework. I commented on the patreon episode but wasn’t sure if y’all read those so here I am again just in case LOL. I’m Japanese and wanted to give you guys some recs for your trip!!! You guys mentioned trying to get on a Japanese tv show for foreigners and there’s a really popular one called “YOU wa nani shi ni Nippon e” and they may actually scout you in the airport when you arrive. They’ll literally follow you around on your trip if you sound interesting enough. Not sure if there’s a way to contact them ahead of time to guarantee that they’ll feature you, but I’m sure they’d LOVE y’all’s energy for the show. If you can, try extending your trip to 2 weeks because Tokyo itself requires at least 4 days to explore because it has several cities within. You could also get the JR Pass and travel anywhere in Japan an unlimited # of times within 2 weeks for about $300 flat. Akihabara is a cool place to visit if you’re into technology and anime stuff. Roppongi is a wealthy area that a lot of foreigners work in and go clubbing. Shinjuku is also a really nice place for nightlife, but their train station is hard to navigate ngl. Shibuya has the famous crosswalk and a new viewing deck called Shibuya Sky. Harajuku might not be y’all’s cup of tea but it’s a big hipster-like area. If you go in February, definitely try going to the Sapporo snow festival, it’s so insane. Kyoto is a must for cherry blossom and fall foliage season. Karuizawa and Shirakawa-go are popular places (other than Okinawa) that Japanese people like to go on vacation to. Yamanashi has really nice places to view Mt. Fuji. Osaka has really good street food. If you go in august, it’ll be festival season and there will be insane fireworks and lots of games/street food to enjoy. It’s a great time to see Japanese culture. (Speaking of - the daruma doll is Japanese) Japan’s boba isn’t the best because it only became popular a few years ago, but they have good milk tea in general. You’ll probably find much better boba in LA. Definitely get a matcha latte, crepes, and soufflé pancakes though bc those are Japanese specialties. There’s also a good jbbq chain called “Yakiniku King.” You order through a screen so no need to worry about speaking Japanese ( at least that’s how it is at the one in my city). For shopping, Skytree is really nice. If you can find a big Aeon mall (not just the department store), you’ll find just about anything you could want. Loft and Tokyu Hands has cool stationary. Seria is a nice ¥100 store. I literally buy stuff for my apartment there and it’s good quality. There’s usually really good food in the mall as well. My favorite ramen place is a chain called “Rai Rai Tei” and I recommend getting a ramen/gyoza/fried rice combo and sharing between two people. It’s so bomb. There’s a lot of new amusement parks that have opened up in the recent years like the Super Mario World, Ghibli museum, etc., but I’ve never been personally so can’t tell you if it’s cool or not. If anything, I’d definitely recommend a trip to the onsen. If you can find a co-ed one, Mariah won’t have to be alone and you don’t have to strip down.

These four are for sure in thier healthiest and happiest soft era.Era.. being a fan who was there and always laughed when Japan has been brought up and I'd laugh so hard but always felt sad for him and Zane saying he messed up all of those years ago... these aren't just 4 people who hang out an hour a week and tell stories to each other about sometimes big things happening in thier life.. this is 4 true friends who when they do these podcasts most of the stories come from one of them reminding another person a story they HAVE to tell. Engagements, surgeries, health stuff.. those big things mean a lot but it's the little things that get me. Like Zane reminding heath and Mariah to tell a hilarious story about something they saw on a walk.. or those things. I just love the true raw, real emotion coming from matt.. and though the surprise was for both of them when Mariah realizes what's happening she looks at Matt in time to see his reaction which made her emotional for a hott minute. Like yes it was for her but she was more emotional I think seeing his reaction to it. 🥺

I normally don’t comment and theres a very high chance the crew will not see this but I don’t care. I started watching unfiltered a few years back when you guys has just ended in the old living room setup and had just moved to the new room setup. I wasn’t super into podcasts cause they always felt scripted to me but over covid they got more common, but unfiltered always just felt like hanging out wjth friends. I would watch and laugh for hours and just feel like a group of friends talking about so many random subjects.
