Ben was so genuine and down to earth and was a perfect match with Barrio. They vibed so well together. It was so heartbreaking to lose Ben so soon, but we know he is resting in Heaven ❤ what a great way to dedicate a video in his memory.

One thing that always fascinates me as a Filipino is how people of other cultures seem to be stumped on the spoon and fork combo of utensils. Like, how in the world is using a spoon to scoop rice harder than using fork for them?

It's what they're used to. You can say it's their norm or even part of their culture (not using forks and spoons). It's the same for us when it comes to fork and knife combo which we very rarely use.

I have the great luck to live in one of the biggest Filipino communities in Southern California (Mira Mesa in Northeastern San Diego) and we have many really solid places, mostly little humble places in strip malls that are just such a nice change of pace

Filipina here. The most possible explanation why knives were not encouraged to be used during meals must have originated among the Spaniards being scared those sharp objects would be used to butcher them. Ok. Perhaps, it was the Americans who restricted knife use on the Filipino table. Just imagine how they must have felt while dining with Filipinos such as the fearless, straightforward, and aggressively patriotic General Antonio Luna!

Have you been to cafe Hestia in new york. It is an awesome place. Lovely deli food. Huge amount to choose from. Great community vibes in there. They are in midtown.
