One thing that always fascinates me as a Filipino is how people of other cultures seem to be stumped on the spoon and fork combo of utensils. Like, how in the world is using a spoon to scoop rice harder than using fork for them?
@woojinbloo442 ай бұрын
It's what they're used to. You can say it's their norm or even part of their culture (not using forks and spoons). It's the same for us when it comes to fork and knife combo which we very rarely use.

Filipina here. The most possible explanation why knives were not encouraged to be used during meals must have originated among the Spaniards being scared those sharp objects would be used to butcher them. Ok. Perhaps, it was the Americans who restricted knife use on the Filipino table. Just imagine how they must have felt while dining with Filipinos such as the fearless, straightforward, and aggressively patriotic General Antonio Luna!
