Fantastic video! I needed this video and would love to see a follow up video to this “short game course management.” Put the ball in the worst spots around greens on a real course and take through shot and loft selection. Plugged bunker in the upslope. Ball some how resting on the down slope of the bunker. Down hill slope ball couple feet above the green. Etc. the rock hard bunker shot on your local loop. You know all the places I actually have to chip from around the green not the lay up front or accidental miss layup bunker center of the sand. Please man!

Just found this Pete. Fantastic video. Went straight to the range and tried the short floaty shot. A total revelation, never hit my chips so clean and able to repeat it too! Will be working my way through the rest in time. Thank you!

I've literally just walked in from the range completely demoralised. I've just spent over an hour blading and chunking my 58° wedge (which once upon a time was my strongest part of my game) I've put KZbin on and this video as if by magic popped up. Amazing lessons! Love your work Pete! I have only been able to teach my son the bump and run but struggling with the rest. Plus, he is now at the age where he doesn't listen to me anymore.😢 This will be my go-to training vid for short game. Would be great to tie this off with a putting video. Like the bunker shots, we don't get a lot of practice in except for the putting green before a round 😅
@jamievivian1843 Жыл бұрын
I may have to watch this on a daily. As soon as our snow melts I am heading to the practice range and working on these shots. Might have to wait for the ground to thaw out before doing bunker shots though.
@adamprice9231 Жыл бұрын
Something I feel like would have been great to have explained is the face plain tilt on the bunker shots. So when you open the face wide open, with a normal setup, the face will point right, but if you lower the hands enough, it will straighten up the face angle which will enable you to aim straight at the target. Also applies when you open the face up on high launching chip shots

Only halfway through watching this but a big THANK YOU ! The first part, the longer, high spinning pitch is what I've been needing!! I can do the high "floating" pitchs. Even the "flop" shots. My problem was that I could never figure out why "all" of my wedge/pitch shots would come up short! I have/had to make "full" swings with a pitching wedge just to get 85yds! Absolutely enlightening!! Thank you for this content!!

Great tips. One of my biggest bunker problems is the varying conditions of sand at different courses. This course has fluffy sand. That course has water-packed hard sand. The bunkers at the next course are packed dirt or clay. How does your swing need to change due to soft/hard sand? What I hate most are bunkers with gravel or little rocks mixed in. I hate the thought of marring my clubs. FYI, pickleball is an awesome sport. Tremendous fun. Lots of opportunities to compliment and laugh at your friends. I teach pickleball lessons when not playing golf.

Fantastic content - really help you hit four basic short game shots. Great to hear Fredrick and Pete articulate how each shot requires a different technique (“you don’t just shorten your swing as you get closer to the hole”). If you can master these four techniques, you are on your way to a solid short game.

Thanks Peter and Fred. These are the things I think could shave a few shots off the scorecard each round. A friend actually suggested that if I can't find a course with a practice bunker, just to play a round and spot my ball in a green-side bunker and finish the hole. It's not the same, but I want to try it out.
