This is the case where there's gaps in rules and regs that cause an odd sort of dis-synergy. The parking lot would have shown up after the station was built. So, when they built the parking lot, they had to put in handicapped spaces to satisfy the ADA requirement (and probably something that was on the local ordinance list) but the station itself is grandfathered in to not having to make any meaningful accessibility upgrades until they do a full renovation.

That was fun. Didn't realize they were through-routed. I've ridden from 30th Street to the Chelten Avenue Station a few times (years ago). Seeing this, I consider myself lucky I took the right line, as I see Germantown Station is quite a bit further from where I was going. I wonder how often people take the wrong line and are faced with a long walk midway on those routes. Hardly any of the SEPTA Officials even ride the trains, buses or trolleys and have no clue what the daily ridership experience is like. The sad thing about that caboose that is in the gardens along Amtrak in North Philadelphia is that it was restored in its original PRR paint scheme when it was first moved to that spot.
