*_I find treating glitter polish like a gel when removing, helps too. It doesn’t need to be wrapped up & sit as long, but just acetone soaked cotton ball, apply & hold to nail for maybe 15 secs then press & swipe. I prep 4 cotton balls & lay my hand flat & let them all sit. Then re-saturate those same balls for the other hand & do the thumbs last. Then finally, I use 1 clean cotton ball, using a more nourishing remover & do a once over on all nails._*

I used to use nail polish to remove my nail polish whenever I ran out of nail polish remover. The fresh Polish reactivates the dry layers underneath, and it comes right off. You don't even need to use nail polish remover.

I've been using your technique of wrapping my nails around a cotton ball filled with acetone and leaving it in for a minute or two and wiggling it off. It has worked wonders for me, now i use that technique to remove all of my polishes. Thanks kelli ❤ I love glitter polishes the most and its helped me make it so much easier because of you!

I didn't get to try this trick yet BECAUSE last night when I was FaceTiming a friend, I had an itch that I scratched and when I looked at my nails, the nail polish on two nails popped off in one whole piece and then it was all downhill from there. I didn't even use a peel off base coat. Just a regular one. So I had to redo my nails today on account of I'd only had them done for 24 hours prior to the pop off lol. 🤦‍♀️

I also get the jar nail polish removers from target in particular. They are filled with acetone and have a scrubby brush inside. Stick your finger in, wait a few minutes, run the nail against the brush and polish/glitter is gone. Some of the jars have sponges inside. I prefer the brush..its the generic up and up brand

Applying a very thin layer of clear polish first before the glitter also helps as the glitter polish will stick to the clear polish and not your nail plate. Same concept of applying a layer of clear acrylic or gel first before laying down glitter when doing nail extensions.

I've heard of doing this in a pinch if you don't have remover or acetone. But it doesn't seem like you would need BOTH. I soak mine off with clips, remover and tiny bits of cotton ball. It works very quickly and effectively without wasting polish.

I've been using this trick since the 90s, except I would actually use the same glitter nail polish, and I didn't let it set for more than 30 seconds, and it would usually wipe it off really quickly, didn't even need nail polish remover. Some of these newer nail polishes are a little tougher than they used to be though, so I'm imagining this method probably works better these days.

Use some used dryer sheets balled up instead of cotton balls. I would keep used dryer sheets for this purpose. It takes off glitter polish soo easy ✨️

I just use pure acetone & hold it on the nail for a few seconds before swiping off (with a little pressure) from nail bed to tip. Works easily every time. I use cotton wool pads rather than balls as they're less prone to snagging on the rough glitters. I did used to struggle with nail polish remover which was basically watered down acetone & acetone free ones barely shift anything. But pure acetone works like a charm & no wasting polish either.

Oh and I also find that using pure acetone dries my skin out LESS than the diluted stuff or acetone free which also often have extra crap in like vitamin e (which your skin can't make use of on the surface, you have to eat stuff with it in) and fragrances which irritated my skin. It would take nearly an hour of having nail polish remover on my nails & skin to shift glitter polishes, but I can remove it in 15 mins including washing my hands off & oiling (olive oil only) then washing my hands again. The actual removal is way under a minute per nail including the underside which I always fully paint (mega version of wrapping the tip, I get 21 days wear that way).

The best trick I learned for removing glitter polish is to pour a little remover/acetone into a ziplock bag, put your fingers inside, and then submerge the bag into a bowl of warm water. The remover being warmed up makes it work so much better and you just use your fingertips to gently rub the polish in the remover. You may need to do another wipe with a cotton ball/round and some clean remover to do some final clean up but I was amazed at how effective it is. Yes, you are submerging your fingertips in remover, but it is the fastest trick I have found and no scraping and scrubbing, so no more drying or harsher than scrubbing with cotton or craft felt, etc.
