This TUNED Abarth 124 Spider is CRAZY!

Jay takes me out in his 200bhp TUNED Abarth 124 Spider! The car is fitted with a sports-cat, with an aftermarket pop & bang map, and it sounds insane!!
NOTE: It is important to understand that social distancing guidlines were respected throughout this shoot. The UK Government has advised that car sharing is possible, providing the windows (or roof!) are down, and the occupants of the vehicle avoid talking 'at' eachother. Touch areas were also sanitised before and after filming, to avoid the risk of spread.

I've got an Abarth 124 Spider and I think the Record Monza exhaust is one of the best you can get on the market for that price I'm surprised something as loud is even allowed here in Germany It is beyond me how they got away with that

What I love about this car is that it's based a lot on the Mazda MX-5. But if you want the fastest MX-5. You get the Abarth 124 Spider. If I got one I would have it in red. With the black bonnet

I would go for an mx5 simply because of the hardtop you can get the RF Model with the hardtop the Abarth 124 Spider has only this shitty softtop, put a edelbrock kompressor kit on it than you have your 224 HP, 255 NM

Totally agree but the overs are aluminium so he can't roll them. I'd just raise them by a mm or three but then I prefer handling to looks in all cases, and can't look at big camber.

I roll federal 585 rs rr on mine. I have the ricombi muffler delete axle back. Thinking about a stuffed turbo with an e85 conversion. And the stiffer springs for the multiair.

Nice car nice upgrades but I'm not a fan of the pops and bangs, if I get my 4C tunes I will opt out on that noise. I do like the turbo spool sound, I would want more of that.

Yeah those are the ones I have, great tyre I really recommend them for the price and comfort vs performance. Pirelli's were awful.

How reliable are these when tuned? Im considering one of these after my civic si to build and I cant find much about these but I love how they look.

It‘s a Fiat/Abarth engine. The 1.4 Turbo usually is pretty reliable. There are Abarth 500 with 200k+ km. Our family has always had Fiat cars and we never had any problems neither with the engine nor anything else. Don’t listen to the people who tell you oH iTs A fIaT bUy A gOlF.

Isn't there someone in the UK that works with mtd? That is the best company to modificate your MA 1.4. Specially the ecu, no one else. Very nice car btw👍🏻

The 18" wheels should fit fine in this car right? What tires size are you using. You had rubbing problem because you lowered the car. If you didn't lower the car there shouldn't be any problem with the 18" rims right?

I honestly dislike lowering cars. It makes them more vunerable to damage and is harder/impossible to wash the wheel arches properly without taking the wheel off. I do love this car model though and will probably add this to my car collection :)

Spring. When has enough pressure it will open it. So as far you not flat out you pretty quiet. It does sound awesome. In US there plenty of options to get some more performance from exhaust, with wider diameter and better cross pipe thought.. My exhaust sound now maybe not as sexy as it was with record Monza but for sure more aggressive and gives extra torque..

For £3,500 I got a good JDM MR2 with a 3 litre V6 Camry engine. No need to spool up, to get boost - it's just meaty torque, from idle, right thru midrange, and I have an ECU tweak that let's her rev out past 7,000 rpm. I have 6.5x16 front and 7.5x17 rears, with 205 and 225 wide rubber. I'll come out and say it. I bet my '2V6 is quicker than this.

This setting is crap. Too wide, wheels are too big, camber is too much exaggerated. This car just need a stage 1 ecu tune, and 4 ohlins or another great coilover kit in order to get rid of that crappy bilstein. Sounds great btw
