You mentioned Super Mario Flash 2 and you know what I was reminded of? A similarly named game called Ultimate Sonic Flash 2. It was made to celebrate Sonic Advance 2's release, had two zones from the actual game (Leaf Forest & Ice Paradise), multiple playable characters (one of which was Shadow who wasn't even in the Advance games lmao), it was a big part of my Newgrounds childhood lol.
