gosh you did a great job on that RD. thanks for showing us "how" to do proper deep clean of parts that are difficult to clean. And bicycle components ARE difficult to clean and reassemble properly. Please keep doing that.

my dad also has an RD Deore DX. I told my father to watch this video, my father was very happy because it reminded him of his bachelor roadbike with a Deore DX and LX (vintage) groupset. now it's still there and in good condition and inherited to me, but I prefer my Merida Big Seven XC hahaha thank you, greetings from Indonesia. *sorry my bad english

I think I missed the DX, my first bike was a Shimano Deore LX branded bike… with full LX. It’s still at my parents home…

Very clear. The SHIMANO which I have is called a 515 airit and it must be older than that shown as it is not so "streamlined" I had to clean win white spirit and the a wire brush on a Dremel tool. I found that the springs were far to strong to to risk removing,

niiiiiccceeee i ride my peugeot cologne every day and i love it :) a lot of parts are new cost me in total around 600 € in 1,5 years :D bike was a gift from a colleague from work :D bike was around 15-20 year on his balcony outside in the rain,wind snow. so its a bit rusty.. next month i will repaint it

Thanks I got LX rear durriler. I got Ebike without Paddle Assistant. So I can take off chain, durriler and everything And still be able to ride with out it. Lots of work to clean them. Can I use Autozons STP greese on barrings. And I went from 21 speed 9 gear to 7 gear. Do I have to change the shifter? Or 9 gear shifter wouldn't give problem. I have gary fisher 229 29er.

It’s funny you thinking this is old. 😂. Try to find a Huret, Simplex, or Benelux derailleur. Now they are old! Great video!

I have a question regarding Hydraulic cables: I bought a white cable with 5mm OD, 2mm ID - I am planning to change my mt200 cables for good look but when i realized there's different sizes BH59 and BH90 I got confused. -- My question is, can I still use the white cable with ID 2mm with BH59 2.3mm barb? you know what I mean, pls HELP! Thanks.

Did pick up similar peugeot in pretty good condition last winter , with DX groupset for 100euros . cantilever brakes was super cancerous to set up

Yes they can be a pita. If u really want to know what brakes are a pita try the roller cam brakes Schwinn came out with late 80's early 90's for the high sierra. Fun fun fun.
