All babys need a distinguished older gentleman to teach and protect them. At the stable I had myquarter horse colt at. Sam a 25 year old Old World Quarter horse was herd leader. When everyone came to the gate to go in. Sam was first. The only ones that got in front of him was the weanlings. And woe to the horse that tried to crowd out those babies. Sam allowed none of that. ❤

Skeletor seems to be a happy, well-adjusted horse. He is capricious, he plays, he rolls, he obviously eats well, he has spirit, he is happy to be alive and thanks to you, well treated. I cannot believe your vet recommended putting him down. I for one would highly recommend you get a second opinion. Even if he can only be an equine ambassador, he's so much more than just worth saving. Give him an apple for me, will you? :)

Yes that seemed odd to recommend putting him down. Optimize his health and condition then put him down? I hope that never happens. Why can’t he just live out his life with no demands…

I have really noticed that (contrary to many other on line horse trainers) you treat your horses and speak about them as if they are your much-loved children. I pray that your organization (KZbin subscribers, supporters, barn hands? etc.) will grow in your efforts and that you will be able to save many more horses. Skeletor is a lovely boy. You can see the mischief in him. He's got too much energy and personality to have him put down. I don't know what his injury is, but there is always a cure. What about Healing Touch for animals. I know you can find them in the Calgary area and I've seen to help tremendously. Just a thought. Never give up, that horse wants to live.

I love everything and anything you put out. Frisco looks amazing for 29 -- I would not have thought he was an-oldie-but-goodie if you hadn't said his age. He is beautiful. I love goofy Skeletor and Studman too. All your horses are very lucky in your care -- top notch. It will be wonderful for you to have your own yard, but hard to give up that constant view of those incredible mountains. Thank you so much for sharing all the wonderful work you do with horses that no one wanted. Horse (snow) Angels -- lol. PS I think people might have been upset about Skeletor's prognosis, as he is so young and vital -- and as you have noted a real favorite on your channel. But I totally get that you need 100% direct and correct info from your vet. As you noted in that original video, very occasionally diagnosis can be wrong and I will hope that is the case for you and Skeletor.

Skeletor's hip issue would enormously benefit from good myofascial release done daily. It was screaming at me to share this with you so I did. Tight gas is and muscle injury can express through the entire horse. Also groundwork over poles, especially lateral mivents and weaving back and forth across the pole going forward. He looks ready and happy.

I love all the updates on all the horses! Skeletor is looking great his quality of life is good he is happy and living large . Until you know his quality of life is not good and you will know he will tell you he is suffering. Then you think about euthanizeing him. I think your doing a great job with him ! He having the time of his life 😂. Scarlett looks great too. I just love Tiny ! Barn cats are always Soo beautiful!! I hope you get your own place that you want. You do wonders for these horses. Skeleton reminds me of a thoroughbred quarter horse cross I used to have. Very smart and mischievous too. He also could run extremely fast. I had so much fun with him.

Great vid CC, i'm glad your back is starting to heal. With my back it's age plus wear and tear through my working life. So i had a happy hour being mangled by a new osteopath last week. 🤣🤭 Another session or two in the next month or so should settle it down nicely. Any video, any length about any or all of you will be fabulous. This vid was twenty minutes of joy, smiles and relaxation. Your mountain views are stunning, the sun starting to go down are breathtaking. I'll send out good vibes that you and your husband find a piece of land you love and can afford. to me it sounds like your fantastic heard is in dire need of a donkey companion. A quality female donkey brings so much healing to traumatized animals of all kinds , brings a tranquil calm to heards that have some social conflict in it, and they make perfect playful companions to either outcasts or restless folk in the group. So please give that a consideration for both Scarlet and Skeletor. Maybe if you can , rent one out for a month or two before buying one long term but once you have the right one - donkeys are a life time investment. The only one creature the donkeys more often are not a fan of are k-9's mainly due to their ancestors commonly fought off coyotes so naturally anything related would be considered a predator to donkeys. :)

Did your vet mention Skeletor having a mechanical lameness rather than an injury? Though if pain meds get rid of the lameness then it definitely hurts and maybe I missed that in a video. Only reason I ask is my rescue Paso (def gaited, lovely trail pony) had a minor patellar luxation which we corrected with hill work at a trot. Ground poles are good too. Even if an injury, may be good for rehab as he improves. He's lovely. ❤ Frisco too he looks fabulous- the result of your great care. My 30 1/2 yo I got as a 3 yo. Fun to grow up with them.

I want to Thankyou for your videos..We r on a homestead in Northern Idaho..I'm in my early 60s..I love the tips ..I have 2 horses that I care for and your tips and knowledge is greatly appreciated..I grew up in Eastern Idaho at the base of the Grand Tetons..But here in N.
