The fact that David, after pinning Ellie down, moved his hand and was trying to unzip his trousers nearly made me vomit. It was so difficult to watch and Bella Ramsey's acting was spectacular. Her screams really made us feel how she, and anyone in that sort of position, would feel. The vindication the viewers feel when she kills him too. David is scarier than the cordyceps and any infected because people like him (those with power and control over people or communities/religious figures/teachers) actually exist 🤢

Loved your reaction. A few things if I may: 1) They really didn’t leave any imagination behind with what David’s intentions were and that was even more terrifying. 2.) Bella Ramsey captured Ellie’s trauma response so beautifully. Ellie takes all of her pent up anger, rage, pain, grief and trauma thus far on to David and is completely overcome. The thousand-yard stare, screams, wide eyes, shock, and disassociation was so heartbreaking. David preys on her worst fear, which is that she’ll end up alone, and in the moment she leaves the burning building, she truly believes she’s all alone. So when she sees Joel, not only is she reeling from her trauma, this is the first time she’s seeing him okay after he’s been injured for the last several days. 3.) I love how Pedro Pascal delivered Joel’s line “Hey, look, it’s me-it’s okay baby girl” with such a tenderness and comfort. Joel doesn’t even know what happened to her, he just knows this terrified, traumatized little girl needs his assurance and love. I think this is the first time we’re hit with the reminder that Ellie can be both a spunky, badass teen, and a traumatized little girl needing a hug. I’ve heard from many people who’ve experienced SA that the end scene was so moving because that’s just what you should do for someone who’s been immediately traumatized. Pedro and Bella are perfectly cast, they deserve all the awards, and this show is just too flipping good! ❤

Yup, confirmed by Bella Ramsey directly. Essentially they identify as non binary and have said they're cool with any basic pronoun (she/her, they/them, he/him). I just use "they" typically because it's what I remember, but I know people refer to them with all of those pronouns, so it's all good! :) Most of the people in media use she/her and Bella has been cool with it.

@@SummerSkys penicillin shot can be done to butt muscle,thigh muscle or arm but is done in the butt muscle because of the better absorption. You need to divide the butt cheek into 4 squares and do the shot into upper external part(on the hip side). Before injecting the antibiotic you need to draw back the syringe plunger to see if you didn't hit the blood vessel (if so,blood will appear in the syringe). There was also how much of it and how often you should do it but I already forgot 😅

Trauma. The guy who gave the kitchen workers said "venison" (deer meat) not "medicine". The meat they were eating was most likely Alec, which means he fed the girl her father and that's why they weren't burying him. Most likely their plan was to have a coffin they sealed shut with rocks in it or something and claim his body was inside. It would have been decomposing for months, so they wouldn't open it to find out. The reason Alec tried to immediately stab Joel when he saw him was most likely because Joel was supposed to be their meal, but he got away and they had to do with eating Alec instead. The fact David was a teacher prior to this is gross and in my interpretation, he got caught being inappropriate with students and the apocalypse stopped his trial early and that's how he "found God after the apocalypse".

Up to this point in the story they show bits of what Joel’s capable of. Then here we see the papa bear brutality switch gets flipped to the on position when he knows that his baby girl Ellie is in danger. This section of the game made me the most anxious because of David and also because Ellie is essentially on her own and we don’t know how Joel is doing for awhile. I’m not saying that the infected aren’t scary it’s just that the human monsters are way more terrifying to me.

Trauma! This episode covers the section of the game that made me the most nervous. Ellie is essentially on her own with Joel out of commission. Yeah playing part 2 was the most intense 3 days of gaming of my life. I was so invested I played the final fight perfectly and I was playing on hard. I couldn’t stand the idea of seeing Ellie lose after all the trauma. So that kicked me into some other mode where I legit felt like it was life or death lol. Some people have called part 2 a misery simulator but as someone who has complex ptsd, I appreciated how they worked the realities of ptsd in, as well as music. It was wonderful as a guitar player being able to learn the songs and share tabs I’ve worked out or play them for others in the community. I’m no professional or anything but part 2 really bridged my love for story telling and music into one powerful experience. Gaming changed when the first game came out and these story driven experiences became more mainstream and expected in a time when Xbox 360 multiplayer was dominating. Of course there were other story driven franchises before the original game but tlou felt like a film experience for the time and had amazing acting and graphics for the time period. It took what games like metal gear solid or max Payne were trying to achieve and just had the right equipment to pull it off, with a solid script and cast.

Yes, like you said at the end of your reaction, the word trauma really sums this episode up. 😟 Sorry if this is unsolicited advice, but it's just a thought. You should consider watching stuff with subtitles, because even when it's our first language, sometimes we miss stuff. (English is my second language, and I always have subtitles on). Oh the Trauma! Another great episode, another great reaction. Man this show is destroying me week after week.
