Oh man I would love to see videos like this for people with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome/hyper mobility! I know it’s not commonly addressed in PT and postural correction, but it would help a lot of people. I can’t do this exercise well because laying on my shoulder pushes my head of humerus out of the socket 😬 It would be absolutely life changing if Conor did some vids for my fellow EDS people!!

Conor you were my trainer briefly in college, I was always impressed by your knowledge and coaching then but it's really incredible to see how far you've come in the years since. Moreover just about all your videos are targeting issues I struggle with daily (and even back when I was training with you); I'll be paying much more attention to your content this time around! Thanks for the training then, now, and in the future!

Address a video including the Scalene m, causes you to have an elevated ribs (first two) against the clavicle AND IS STUCK, crushes the brachial plexus and causes radiculitis symptoms down the arm and fingers. PS. First 3 rib dysfunctions also manifests as pseudo pain over the lateral shoulder/deltoid.

AMAZING. I had this issue for so long, my right neck felt shut off and as a result my right jaw felt a lot weaker and shut off along with my right tounge, arm arm and the whole side of my body overall If I tried to place the right side of my tounge on the palate, my right neck muscles would get pulled up However my left including jaw, tounge neck, pelvis, pelvic floor, leg, etc felt tight and overly active I never understood and always thought it was something to do with my jaw and tounge As I’m typing this I’ve noticed I’ve managed to load onto my left side which I couldn’t do before Thank you!

Conor, would it be counter productive to try the pull down on both sides? I have chronic pain in left side (and left shoulder higher). So I’m def trying it for left side. But both sides are always super tight so I’d love to work on both if that makes sense. Thanks for all your videos!

Hard to get the message, the video editing seems to have trimmed the silence too much so that it is a long long running sentence. Which 2 cases😢? A slower and more definitive description would be helpful. Maybe hugging the skeleton is a distraction for me. Idk. Pretty sure my chronic neck, shoulder, numbness arm/ fingers is related to what is being described. Thanks very much!! At .75x speed it is a little better.

How do you know it's tight? I never understand what people mean by "tight". I have pain in different muscles but cannot understand the feeling of "tight". How do I know if my muscle is tight? I do have painful hams but I can do splits and very flexible, so "tight" does not equal pain right? I'm confused... 😮
@DefineFitnessStudio24 күн бұрын
You make a great point. Many people have a sensation they associate with tightness, tension or stiffness but have full range of motion. In some cases stretching can make it worse. For example if someone has an anterior pelvic tilt their hamstrings might feel tight but are already excessively lengthened most of the time, and stretching them allows the dysfunctional pelvic position to move further in the wrong direction. I think that's why it's important for people to seek out someone like Conor that has expertise is biomechanical analysis. It's important to recognize that the uncomfortable sensation is not the root cause of the problem but a secondary or tertiary symptom. A good practitioner is going to make their decisions based on what their assessments and analysis show them, instead of chasing and treating symptoms. That's why many people keep getting various forms of body work done that never resolve the issue, but only temporarily alleviate a symptom.
@januar274124 күн бұрын
from my experience, tight means it doesnt cause pain in movement but it is so "heavy", my neck been tight for months, if i rotate to the left right or any movement, it is so tight that sometimes it give me headache, i dont feel any pain but feels like someone is sitting on my neck. i also had a painful left traps, it feel like it was pinched or somebody stick a needle on it. so yeah tight means it doesnt give you pain but it is hard like a rock.
@johnhodgeman398022 күн бұрын
Could you make a video on erb's point in the neck and how to release it and strengthen? The erb's point is incredibly tight from a neck injury and that is what's causing headaches and even dizziness. It is on the right side. If I can get it to release, then the nerve irritation or entrapment should subside.
@retnuh126221 күн бұрын
For rotation, it is essentially equal in both directions, maybe 10 degrees of rotation each direction. My Right shoulder is constantly feeling strained by nothing and my left side bend is almost non existent. I think that means i have shorter Right SCM? Definitely both need improvement.

Can these muscles being tight cause headaches and dizziness?
@nocopyrightmusic003115 күн бұрын
I would appreciate some clarification regarding your video. I am experiencing issues with my left shoulder (Upper Shoulder) and my right shoulder (Lower Shoulder). Additionally, my head stays tilted slightly toward the right shoulder(Lower Shoulder). I can easily side-rotate and lower-rotate my neck toward the right shoulder (Lower Shoulder) to a high degree, but I have difficulty in side rotation and lower rotation toward the left shoulder(Upper shoulder) in both cases. Moreover, if I lift any weight on my left side, even just a little, the muscles in my left shoulder (Upper Shoulder) become inflamed and swell. I'm very concerned about this asymmetrical condition, as it is affecting my overall posture. If possible, could you explain this to me? Thank you.

Hey Connor: I just wanted to say, good video, much much much better! I just think it is great that you did not say anything negative about other health care professionals and were able to acknowledge the limitations with people attempting to get their own objective measurements. My apologies for being a little forward recently. I am so happy that you are helping a lot of people and while I do not think I would take back my comments, this is spot on. Excellent application, excellent verbiage in discussing the self examination options. I am so happy with the subtle differences in this video. Awesome job! Keep up the great work.

My right shoulder is lower but always tensed upwards, often times some neck muscle that is behind the shoulder line feels tight. Yet oddly enough not at the moment. However left side turn and tilt is tougher because the noticeably bigger upper trap on the left side starts to feel sore and like blocking the movement. The head is by my estimation tilted to the right and turned to the left. Also the left side rib cage flares out from front and back so that when someone lies on the chest in judo, it feels like a hot nail pressing through the rib cage and scapula to the mat. Weird thing.

@johnhodgeman398027 күн бұрын
My right side of my neck is tight. Scm. Chronic tension. Right shoulder may be lower or even with my left. My MAT/MET specialist said he noticed my head side bending to the right. I strained my right neck badly. Cervogenic headache, dizziness. I even got vertigo but I really dont know if that's bppv or from the cervogenic neck pain. Maybe both. As soon as I told him I have both top and bottom wisdom teeth out on my right side, he said I either need to get rid of the other two wisdom teeth or get it corrected by a dentist on the right. It can and does affect my postural symmetry. I think he said my head is tilted to the right which I didnt really pick up on but now i see it. The right scm has chronic tension but now add on to it a bad neck strain /injury on the right from my occipital area and hooking down into that elevator scapular area and the traps. The accessory and dorsal scapulae nerves are irritated or entrapped. Then add in the missing wisdom teeth on the right and it's a real s show. I did the test. Better rotation to the right. Tilt is better to the left. So I have a shorter left scm even though what I always feel is tension on the right side of my neck. Side of and back of the right side of the neck. Would I perform the 1st excercise for my right side and the 2nd exercise for my left side?
@bllwrwd814226 күн бұрын
Interesting I'm also in a similar situation Difficulty turning my head to the right Tilt is easier on the right side Based on your comment i probably have a shorther right scm Even though the entire left side of my neck is extremely tight and noticeably more developed My left upper trap is in tension 24/7 And the scalene muscles are so compressed i often hear my own heartbeat

His explanations are always really good, his philosophy too but it seems that he has 2-3 variations of breathing exercises for lots of postura problems. I feel like his practical exercises are far from enough. And I am not gonna buy his program. He is paid because I am watching, I am watching because I need to solve my problem, he keeps rolling the same 2-3 breathing exercises and I will not be watching anymore.
@PandolfoCarla23 күн бұрын
if you have been watching his videos you should know that basically mewing and proper breathing would literally fix most of the problems that were originated because lack of both in the first place… Maybe your problem is your belief system that is still aligned with old fashioned “medicine” and their nonsense focused and isolated approach.
