In my opinion i think the change came at just the right time. Here now we see you as a team and everyone is working together, while it wasn't shown this way before. As a channel who is focused on helping to grow other channels it now looks more like maybe we the audience are invited to be a part of that team. From what i have seen with the previous host through his presenting style, he is just another personality who wants to be watched rather than wanting to help. Channel makers has become my favourite channel to watch since starting my channel. ❤

I really appreciate the transparency with how the channel has changed over the past year or so. As someone who has worked in an office setting for twenty years (and who doesn't mind it!!), I really like the new vibe: A team of friendly coworkers interacting in their work setting. It feels deeply comfortable and familiar to me, in a way that most KZbin channels featuring a single talking head don't. I also love seeing Idaho!!

I regularly watch several of what I call "KZbin gurus" channels. I enjoy your approach today MORE than in the past. It feels authentic without a lot of hype. Some of the other channels (which shall not be named) seem to talk in circles with endless lists and flow charts that just are not all that helpful at the end of the day. Keep doing what you're doing. (Also, one of you needs to write a tell-all book about what really went down last year. Spill the tea. 😂)

And Ricky, i know you are into data tracking too, i hope you are noticing the same trend i've noticed in that some channels who were very "look at me" mr beast style a year ago are either getting less average views now or are trying to change up their vibe to match the more natural aesthetic which is sweeping in. Being that i have a background in data tracking and research i noticed it and it looks like we are set for a steak of unnaturally high energy channels either crashing out or making their own pivots while trying to catch this wave. I know i looked like channel makers were having a slump after you know who left, but it was perfectly timed because it allowed you here to start riding the wave right from the start while giving him a false sense of achievement elsewhere. The work and insight and experience you have here is showing more and more each week 😊❤

My latest video was from a new perspective, instead of me showing my audience how to bake, its me baking for me with my audience and instead of doing a voice over I'm just talking to the camera. But in my head i think i was talking the way i do with my 15yr old who i have a great bond with. So watching it back I'm just as excited about it as i was while filming it. Its a test at something i was to add to my channel rather than a pivot, because im not going to stop what im already doing, just build on my channel experience.

This is such an interesting topic. My small channel has had a few jumps in Subs, Views and Watch hours. The change was - Me. I appeared more in my videos. My 20 -25 mins art tutorials needed breaking up. So I started adding some 30-45 second midrolls explaining the tutorial so far and what to expect next. This produced great results and comments. I don't script my midrolls either. I like then to be more spontanious. I fluff my lines and it doesn't matter. I make mistakes in my paintings too. Then show how I fix them. It makes me human and I think more relatable to the viewers. There are lots of other tweeks as well but that's another whole conversation. You guys rock! Keep on being you and making great content. 😃😃😎😎

Interesting perspective on personality and empathy helping in growing a channel. I've already heard that people have stronger bonds to a channel when there's empathy involved either from or to the speaker. Nice thing to consider.

Absolutely fascinated by the insights shared in this video! It's incredible to see how much of a difference the right host can make, transforming content delivery and engaging the audience on a whole new level. The commitment to authenticity and the focus on connecting with viewers genuinely resonates with me. It's a reminder that in the digital world, being relatable and true to oneself isn't just valuable, it's vital. Looking forward to implementing some of these strategies on my own channel and seeing where the journey takes us. Thanks for the inspiration and for showcasing the power of personality in content creation!

 @ChannelMakers Question: Personality-driven channels tend to (unsurprisingly) lean heavily into a few signature behaviors, catch-phrases, memes, etc., and those seem to get more entrenched over time as the audience grows to expect them. How do you see this channel (or any team-based channel) developing differently with multiple hosts? I've watched a few vids lately about short-form content, and how it anonymizes content creation. KZbin has historically been dominated by personalities, but we've seen a gradual shift toward team, rather than single personalities. I don't think there's anything wrong with either approach, but different viewers look for different things. It's like the difference between watching a stand-up act, vs watching a comedy movie.

I 100% agree with this video! There are people that absolutely become more into the creator and less the content as time goes on. That's what I think Nate, the previous "host" of the channel, was a master at which is presenting content that was so useful to viewers that eventually people came to the channel to watch him. I also think that's why alot of people then became "disinterested" in this channel, and this is not a dig at Channel Makers, in that because people were so used to seeing Nate, once he left alot of people wanted to follow him where he was going versus sticking around. I think this channel now still offers some really good info, and I do like the focus on analytics and showing off data on what has been found. However, not everyone is going to agree with me, and hence why alot of viewers left which is a normal thing with change.

I think you're right, the power of KZbin is having an audience that sticks around for you. Getting people to watch 1 video is great, but getting them to stay is even better. Wasn't just the host. You had 1 person as the face of the channel, who presented well as an authority on the subject. Now it feels like 2 friends that have some sense of how it all works but are mostly trying to figure it out. Not saying that's what's actually happening, but that's the vibe. & the information feels more general & 101... more for folks who started their channel yesterday & hit record. The video that made me sub was the one where he drew the diagrams explaining how the algorithm identifies your niche & expands your recommendation pool..& then there were actionable steps to make use of it all. I've been sticking around to see the channel get back to that level of insight.

If it helps. I was originally drawn to the channel makers because the host came across as someone like me, and it felt like a friend helping me instead of an expert. It may have been the timing of it all too. I think the more y’all can relate to the viewers and create a “friendship” with us the channel will continue to grow. ❤

I'm glad it helps! The new CM videos have been helpful; it has just been difficult for me to personally connect due to the public display of the previous host's work history/performance on the Channel Maker's Blog. I was a bit shocked to see screenshots of a work email. Even in real life, it's hard to be someone's friend when they are continuously trying to set the record straight and publicly sharing what I would consider confidential.@@ChannelMakers

I’m sorry that was so off putting to you. In my defense, It was a time where much of the audience was demanding transparency. It’s a no-win situation. You can’t have transparency and at the same time not divulge the truth.
@CourageousPainting
@CourageousPainting 4 ай бұрын
@@RickyKesler I appreciate the transparency; it could have been summed up in a short blurb and was respectful for both parties. The blog post was written in a way that could serve as documentation of a former employee’s performance, which could be used in a court of law if necessary, and that’s the part that bothers me. I still support both parties. I just wish a different route was taken.
