It's not a comprehensive list, but some reasons to take a lawyer: 1. Objectivity. A third party can maintain emotional and logical objectivity when bad facts arise. 2. Access. Your lawyer can access court documents and make and file motions from a place outside of jail/prison. 3. Slip up leeway. Not worrying about accidentally incriminating yourself with a slip of the tongue is helpful

Also the optics of putting up a defense as a defendant are terrible. “I know I have a problem, but what I did wasn’t THAT bad” vs. “My client acknowledges he has a problem and he’s committed to working through it, but the evidence shows that these charges are overblown”

This. But for me it’s my dad.. if anything.. my mom knows more about computers and she knows nothing lol.. and the fact that we’re not always there to fix her problem.. she eventually learns and figures it out. I think there is something there where we jsut decide to be lazy and turn off the brain.. once we don’t need to use it.. but when you turn it on, you can litearlly learn anything.itsl iek the grannys’ playing Elden ring, and gaming hardcore.. etc.. or grandpas that never played games and are like playing fps.. 100% its motivation.. and muta talking about when his dad was teaching him computers was exactly like me.. kids got like video games.. we got coding education games 😂😂😂 and math books..

He flatout left halfway through the most recent episode, came back in the last 5 minutes, and only spoke when Muta asked him to ad-read for his candy lol.

Just for context, when Destiny mentioned an incident where several people filed complaints to The Bar about Nick, it was due to Keffals. Keffals had "her" fans submit those complaints because Nick discovered Keffals' activities involving DIY Hormones and Catboy Ranch. In response, he made a comment about Keffals, saying "Get on the wall." Nick was dealing with the same Keffals drama that everyone else is facing now, but a few years prior.

On the discussion of working and such, having ADHD as well, I definitely feel the issues with regards to focus, time management and having my brain active all the time. Whenever I'm doing something that isn't me learning or creating something, whether with regards to education, work or even in a game, I feel like I am wasting my time which needs to be conserved. So having something regimented keeps me in check somewhat with regards to how I'm working and what I'm doing during a particular stint. During school however, that just goes out the window and I'm constantly up until 1-2 AM doing school stuff, sometimes falling asleep at my desk because I just feel like I need to study more. PS: On Nux's point about the separation between Church and State, the idea is very prominent in America due to the historical persecution the first colonists faced in Britain from the state religious authorities. What the separation means is that the state will never mandate what a religion should teach or espouse and in exchange, religious authorities will never interfere in the affairs of the state in the sense of having political parties/groups which are openly affiliated with a religious organization.

I've been keeping up with the rekeita thing, and there has been a lot of movement already. First, he's out on bond paying a 50,000 dollar bond, so he didn't have to follow bail rules. However, his wife is out on bail, having to follow rules. This leads to a recent update that his wife has kicked him out of the house and has retained a different lawyer. Third, if he doesn't do anything stupid, he probably won't be disbarred. However, he has a good chance of being suspended pending intervention. Fourth, anyone saying the search warrant is garbage needs to go back to law school or go to law school cause they are wrong. Fifth, he will probably not get jail time for this and be put into some kind of diversion program, which is pretty common. I know, yall probably recorded this a while ago, but stuff moves pretty quickly for a while, then slows down as people start going over documents.

(This component should allow you to change from list or grid view also, hopefully. If they don't they should.)) - People are probably using thumbnails as the quick way to identify a video they want to watch, then the title. So the bigger thumbnails are going to be more useful for this. You can also see more videos at a time with peripheral vision. - Live chat and comments are in the same place now. (Re-using components/concepts and inducing a language of where to look to see user responses that will be consistent throughout the interface, whether you're looking at live streams or a video.) - Comments will be less tiring to read since the back and forth for your eyes will be closer together instead of spread across an entire monitor, think like a book. Or any modern website where the text is pushed towards the middle of the screen. As long as the comments are anchored to the right when you scroll, it should be a better layout. Even if it is using pieces of the "mobile" layout now. So long as they handle convergence fine, which it seems like they do, at least from what I've seen. I haven't been able to fully test it myself.

America not taxing churches has nothing to do with keeping churches out of politics. Churches are untaxed because all of their revenue comes through donation, and they are expected to use those donations to feed, cloth, and house those in need in their area. We do the same for any charity, churches are just covered under a specific carve out because they are assumed to be doing their charity and under less scrutiny.

gread pod.. i wish you guys would just be able to keep it rolling as long as the convo is going but i understand time constraints etc. Steven is just someone who has a neverending list of interesting topics to poke at him for and know that he wont try to shy back from and instead go nuclear on the truth and how he feels about it. but again, i'm a terminal dgg'er. i will say i agree with Nux about Destiny's one major pitfall was not spending enough time on growing his YT channel while on Twitch b/c it's so frustrating to see him around 750k, then see some loser react channel in the millions who adds literally nothing to their audience. Destiny's research streams are a testament to someone who will not bend the knee to pandering and people still join his livestreams to the thousands, and learn along with him. Not to mention, Steven has been able to foster prob the only political community that DOES cater to different parts of the political spectrum (as far as people are respectful), including a small % of conservatives.. and we are still able to talk to one another on dgg without animosity, respecting one another, learning where they come from, and even if the disagreement isn't dissolved, it just becomes a situation of agreeing to disagree without malice. I personally felt so politically homeless for years when the left took their crazy pivot into whatever it's become now. it's something i can't identify with even though I've tried. This new far left has called every ethnic slur for being a Persian girl, but also every slur accusing me of being far right, when I'd been a registered Democrat since 18. Destiny and the dgg openness literally brought me back from tapping out as Apolitical and allowing me to have a voice as just being a Clinton era Democrat with OG values of free speech, separation of Church and state (and i do consider certain Ideologies to be parallel to Church.. so keeping Church AND Ideologies out of classrooms), body autonomy (pro-choice), and unironically, the value of being an individual critical thinker (as opposed to the once Republican religious bent that now the far left has also adopted into their echo chambers and being always against America.. i Love America, i don't want to part of an ideology that hates our country). Another point to Steven and the idea of debate not really meaning anything.. i think it depends on the perspective. maybe the debate itself wont matter to the opponent or their viewers, however, keeping the research on livestream only expanded my personal knowledge and the thousands who'd also tune in. I had been so out of the loop on anything geopolitical, especially I/P before Oct 7th, but now i'm able to argue people on the most insane miniscule things they say that i know is just wrong b/c, for example, i've READ the Hamas charter with stream thanks to Destiny, and i KNOW it literally calls for jihadist action to eliminate every JEW, not ZIONIST, or just every Israeli in Israel, but ALL Jewish people in the world. Then i hear talking heads who are "scholars" trying to not only never bring up the Hamas charter, but literally take that same info and try to apply it to the Israeli charter. So as far as the debating doesn't change anything.. maybe thats true to an extent. But i know for a fact that for those debates he does to even occur, the research dedication makes ME and the rest of of the community who aren't as knowledgeable on geo political arguments, learn so much it strengthens our ability to pick up on the bullsh* others try to spew. Overall, Great pod and i hope you have him back on once he returns from Israel. Love you guys, dggL💙

I think the reason debate isn't seen as legit anymore is because people can't admit they were wrong anymore or similarly they will go out of their way to disagree with someone on the other side even though they personally agree or at least see as a plausible counter and they sit there and argue a bunch of things that they don't really even believe in just because their 1-2 major issues align with "the cause" or because they're afraid to be ostracized for sharing some views with the "other"

Just saying almost all lawtubers are practicing lawyers, they don't do youtube because they can make more money than practicing law. EDB is one I can think of who isn't practicing, not a lot of others. They just enjoy sharing their knowledge (people in all professions do it) and having a community. Rekeita is awful but this news still shocked me. Also in light of this its "funny" that he absolutely hated the "lawtube" label and said he was absolutely not apart of it because online communities are bullshit and went on some rant about it (back during depp v heard).

Some KZbin pages are still the old page and KZbin looooves to not actually load new pages. So if u are watching a super long playlist, after like the 10th video, if you don't refresh the page, KZbin will chug the fuck out. And if you leave a video paused for like over 1hr and then press play, after like 1min, the ENTIRE page reloads on its own.

Live super close to the town where all of this went down and have family who go to the church which I believe played a role in calling child protective services. There are so many issues with a lot of the debate sphere, video essays, and reporting in general. A lot of is has always been the case, but the internet has amped it up to insane degrees. There are times when someone takes a quote from someone else and builds entire arguments against them without any context, or times when people "report" on a tweet of someone say something that has like, 100 views, as though that's somehow relevant to nearly anything. Then so much of debate is just Crossfire to farm content. Everything is content. This is life.
