I love this piece, you played it brilliantly. Thank you.

So impressive. You played it steady and clean with separation of voices, and dang, that is one heck of a difficult piece. Respect.

Thanks so much! I'm a bit under tempo compared to most pros but ya, difficult piece for sure.
@LFUFMNX2 жыл бұрын
@@Thisisclassicalguitar I think slowing down the tempo to make it doable is totally acceptable, and the piece still sounds very good. The same would apply to bwv 998 allegro, I think. What you said about getting mentally tired and the technique degrading is so spot on. That happens to me a lot.

The courante is really difficult for a beginner. Make sure you are working on nice easy works to build a foundation.

I really enjoy this edition and think it is worth buying. It provided me so much information for a medium speed interpretation and I have been able to sparingly omit some things (often labeled as optional notes by the editor) to make it more suitable for a faster interpretation. Also Mr Bradford you did the thing! Nicely played! You've inspired me a lot and the resources you provide have been incredibly helpful for my journey! May I please send you a very short recording of me playing some of your 996 edition?

Hi, Bradford is it? Really enjoying your videos and your playing. I recently bought the PDF with tabs for the suite in e-minor and loving it, the best tab version I've encountered! Im learning the gigue right now and really could use a video guide for the left hand only on this piece, it would make learning way faster. So thats my request, but you are probably a busy man. Either way, thank you for the work that you do!
@Thisisclassicalguitar6 ай бұрын
Yes, it is Bradford and thank you for the kind words. What do you mean by a video guide for the left hand? Do you mean where to put your fingers or do you mean how to accomplish the technique? I generally don't do 'how to play' videos but instead do conceptual discussions on the basics of the work.
@Drollen6 ай бұрын
@@Thisisclassicalguitar Like where to put the fingers - some tutorials have a seperated view on the left hand, from the perspective of the player or like bird view. But that might be more in "how to play" territory, I see that. I will manage to read the tabs and keep watching your video - and study your left hand movement (it is also in the tabs, it's sometimes just easier to unlock by watching a pro like you, and copy your moves). Anyway, I'm very thankful that you make these videos for us, I have nothing to complain about. And thank you for the reply 💐

Bradford, nicely executed. It's too complicated for my old hands. Question....! is that a Mundo support? I only ask because I see it attached to the upper bout and not on the back.

It's the Murata suction-cup version. I'll do a review soon, just testing it out. I need to adjust it with some washers or something to get the right angle.

Bradford , thanks for sharing your performance and the blank sheet music ! One question , is measure # 3 supposed to have a G# ? The 2 other editions I have do have it as a G# ( coming from the Eminor arpeggio ) .

Wow, yes it is. Almost made it through the entire suite without a typo. I'll correct it now. Thanks!

Im curious , with you arranging , learning ,recording every movement for your channel ,what would it take for you to perform the suite live in its entirety?,would that interest you ? I imagine that would take considerable more work not to mention nerve!
@Thisisclassicalguitar3 жыл бұрын
Although I love this suite and enjoy playing it I wouldn't choose it as a performance piece. The violin and cello works by Bach fit on the guitar nicely and are high quality so I'd go with those. In the end though, as much as I adore Bach I don't really prefer it on guitar so I usually gravitate to the actual lute repertoire.

@@Thisisclassicalguitar interesting , regardless of which suite , to perform one live is a massive undertaking is nt it ? the pressure thinking of it beforehand !! you d have to be an exceptional player

Playing using stave and Tabs which one is good? i feel stave is hard to learn but tab is easy
@Thisisclassicalguitar3 жыл бұрын
In the long run notation is better since it is the universal language of music and other musicians can understand it. Plus, understanding the musical composition is very important, tab just shows you where to put your fingers.

For very fast tempo i think hammer-on some notes is a good idea

True, although I find the places that are difficult is where the counterpoint is think and the left hand is doing two things at once.

I don’t know if hard is the right word, maybe tedious? a lot of moving parts. I don’t know how far you’ve gotten a year later, I just started, Im working out the low end, bass notes if you will, Ive never heard it before so I have to get it into my head before I release it through my fingers. It’s a beautiful piece, even if you never play it in a performance it’s a fantastic exercise in complexity and syncopation.
