'Barracuda'!! It's not only their most famous song, it's one of the all time great rock songs, period. Heart had different eras, the 70s being their beginning w/rock songs like 'Barracuda', 'Magic Man', 'Crazy On You' etc. "Alone' is one of their 80s songs, when they had a very successful resurgence.

That shot of Nancy on horseback was all the fuel a teenage boy needed. That's all I'll say about that. While I much prefer Heart's earlier and later Rock eras, their Pop work is quite well done and also has it's place. They had some fantastic songwriters give them a lot of great material. Ann is my favorite female singer.

@davidw74 ай бұрын
They put money up for the videos and they worked for a era of the 80s that all know instantly is a 80s Classic. Many classics were songs and videos pushed (as some say) by the studios ... Tina Turner's classic - What's love have to do with it is one that she was not big on doing. It is basically... older boomers as I am a later boomer that have a dislike for the change into the 80s including Heart. We still needed some 80s Heart and their ability to evolve with it is a tribute to the band and its staying power along with others that did not just peak in one decade... but evolved as the Rock era also changed and with it.

What's interesting about the video (you may not have noticed) is that the record label execs hid Annie (sister with the dark hair and vocal lead) away in the shadows and far away on that balcony because they considered her weight was not something they wanted front & center of your screen. That's why you see so much of Nancy (the other sister) but not much of Annie. It's disgusting really and wouldn't be acceptable in any way in today's world but shows how badly some artists were treated back then because of materialistic record execs.

Great reaction gents! Heart is an absolutely necessary rabbit hole to go down! Ann Wilson, especially in the late 70's, was often called the female Robert Plant! This was further supported as the band did a few Zeppelin covers (Rock and Roll, Black Dog, etc.) early on - and Ann always nailed it! HIGHLY recommend: Crazy On You (album or live), Magic Man, Soul Of The Sea, White Lightning & Wine, Dreamboat Annie (all of these are from their first album - Dreamboat Annie), Barracuda, Sylvan Song/Dream Of the Archer (from second album Little Queen - the latter song highlighting how great Ann's voice is!), more 80's fare: Never, If Looks Could Kill, These Dreams... My sister got me into Heart in the 80's (with this song!) and I've loved them ever since! Cheers.

Few acts are even better live, but they were.
