Priming the flue is the key factor. Even with a wood stove, I have to light a small fire high into the flue using paper or starter sticks to reverse the air flow.

I would've thought Step 1 on the fire place is to ensure the flue is open and the chimney and cap are unobstructed.

Good video, especially lkke the water detection system. Question is there a system similar for electric uses??
@cantcurecancer5 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on where you live, but here in southeast Michigan, DTE has an app that gives you free historical usage that includes all of your electrical usage up to the last hour. It's called Insight and it's very good. Then they'll sell you the premium version for like $3 a month and they'll send you a bridge that gives you instantaneous read-outs from your meter and you know how much an appliance is using at any given time.

There are devices out there that let you monitor power consumption on a per-circuit basis, yes.

There will come a time, I believe, when it will be mandated by Federal law that all new housing have these systems built in, but the reason will NOT be for convenience to or for the homeowner, but rather be so that legislation can determine how water delivery is controlled to individuals or communities. We and future generations may one day find water being controlled in 'brown drought' time periods, just as some communities can have the electricity turned off during peak periods.

As a retired "Old-fart", in my seventies. who is still somewhat involved with armature rocketry, and having had the opportunity to take my own photos from WAY up there (close to 70 miles, plenty high to see the curvature of the Earth), there is NO doubt regarding the fact that our earth, like the moon above us, and the other planets I enjoy often viewing, is about as round as it can get... a bit 'bulgy' at the equator, but definitely round and not flat. I am sure you also will not acknowledge humans have walked on the moon. Have a nice day.✨🤗✨
@flat-earther2 жыл бұрын
@@michelj.gaudet5048 There are many reasons to why you would see or think you see curvature. Few for example are camera fish eye lens as used in go pros. In airplane the passenger windows are curved which might distort, that's why pilots windows in cockpit are flat to eliminate distortion. Also you see 360 degrees around you, you see a circle, now the circular horizon around you created by the limit of your vision may make you think you see a curve. Anyway I suggest watch the series because you can't know what it offers without watching first. Thanks and have a nice day too.

Absolutely, I'm always astounded when I drive by a government building and see the sprinklers watering the sidewalk for hours on end. They're the ones telling us to conserve water, which is a great idea and crucial in our shrinking water assets situation, but it does ring as quite hypocritical.
