Good job TOO, sounds great and smokey like a good two stroke should😀. Got a sweet deal yesterday. Should have shot a video but you know most folks don't like being on camera so just took a picture after we loaded it on the truck. Got a 1964 Honda CT200 90 trail bike in great condition for 500 bucks. He was selling it for 1000 so just offered 400 thinking I'll never hear back. Well he came back at 500 and jumped on it. It will make good videos coming up over the winter months along with more outoards

I've seen worse-the very first flywheel I pulled off any outboard. The little skiff came with a blown 25hp, and another 35hp outboard with a busted bracket and bad foot, but the powerhead was supposed to be good. When I pulled the flywheel it looked like that one of his-except 1 winding had came un-wound and the wire was EVERYWHERE. The guy said it was still running when the foot went bad, then it fell off the hoist and broke the outboard bracket so he just put it in the back of the shed being disgusted with it. Learned a better way to time, THANKS!

I got that 2003 acouple years ago with similar distraction under flywheel.I believe screw for coil came loose and started the carnage.I actually put a 1977 flywheel,on it and the plate and parts from a 1987 and got it running.Also got a 1989 that the underflywheel power pack screw came loose and caused similar problems.

Impressive that it ran at all. Good catch to get the used plate off ebay. Would have cost much more to individually get the parts. This is truly the miracle motor. Looking forward to the next installment.

The smoke was coming from under the flywheel. Those screws worked themselves out a long time ago. Lucky it did not destroy anything else. You need a seat belt in that little boat! Pt.3 next.🎉

I have a 1989 evinrude 14 spline prop. I see you getting greater results with a 9x10 14 prop. Will a 9x10 14 mercury prop work on my evinrude?
@THISOLDOUTBOARD15 ай бұрын
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. No don't think so, the splines will fit but the blades are positioned too far back. Thanks again & Stay tuned !

i wonder if the rectifier overheated the power coils and melted everything else. usually only see that when someone hooks up the battery backwards!

I have the same- 99' j25 W/ the larger carb venturi throat - what size high speed jet and where can get? Thanks
@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 Жыл бұрын
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Go to marineengine.com, look up your year/model and see what size jet yours has, usually it will show the 30hp too but not always. Then look up the similar 30hp same year and see what size it has. Check the intake also, sometimes the 25 & 30 use the same one sometimes not. It can get confusing with these things. Anyway they may have it in stock, if not search the part number, sometimes ebay will have it. Thanks again for tuning in!

@@yeltonT15 the cylinder ports are much smaller. without bumping compression to take advantage of the extra fuel, it will probably idle worse and be no faster on top end.

Man don't get a four stroke. The old 2 strokes are way better. Or get a evenrude e-tec if you can find one best built outboard ever.
