I know what you mean, but reducing carbon emissions is huge to Yorke - it's the main theme of his solo album The Eraser. He's like this in every interview... pretty much no eye contact and a lot of thinking before he responds to questions.

Thom has said in other interviews and press releases that he's not that comfortable playing the role of activist. He's not Bono. I think his concern for the cause is very genuine. Keep in mind, the guy he has with him is someone whom he would feel is far better qualified to discuss global warming, and the smartest thing he can do is be quiet and agree when it's appropriate. Of course the presenters want more then that from him, because he's the glamorous one. He does his best.

Although we don't know whether man-made global warming is real (but I'm almost sure it is), I think we should follow policies for its reversal. This means research for non-gasoline cars, green energy, et cetera. Even if global warming is fake, there's no reason to oppose this.
@robertob8518 жыл бұрын
reliancemaster, maybe if u listened to his songs you'd see a continuing message of environmental changes he'd like in place for the world, he is an active environmentalist and not just a celebrity without a cause, as you can see from the interview he isn't very comfortable in the spotlight and doesn't abuse his celebrity status... to base your opinion on the fact that he says "basically" too much is mildly assumptious don't you agree?

Either way he's a massive Hyp0crlte. He went on how many world tours after this? With his various bands. Screw young people it's important his ageing azz has a good time yes? Seeing what was coming he could have just released music and down small local gigs or just Online gigs but no that wouldnt have fed his ego enough. Thom is the reason I took note of climate change. But he's a disgraceful Hyp0crlte. Colin greenwood too talking about climate change he said something using fancy words along the lines of it wouldn't be enjoyable to stop world touring. Well it's not gonna be enjoyable for gen z to all dle horrifically either. I will never forgive b00mers and gen X for all they've done. Selfish 6astards. Our last chance at anything like a future now is the roll of the dice that is solar geoengineering. All because b00mers, gen x and in large part millenials love money and consumerism more than their own kids

yes, the cheeks are hilarious, and he knows it! i got the impression that he's just generally uncomfortable and a little distrusting of the snarky press, and did not want to come off as daft on a subject he's passionate about. but he still felt compelled to come out and speak about it. or was asked. either way, as long as the word is spread...

neuclear power isnt the only clean alternative to coal power. There's still hydro-energy, solar power etc. I'm not a fan of neuclear power, what with the possibility of a new Tsjernobyl always in the back of my head. But global warming doesnt go away or be any less true because neuclear power is an unattractive option.

So what you're trying to say is that there's no way a person can open their eyes and say "oh crap what am I or what have I been doing for the past 20 years, I need to change." That doesnt happen? Who spoke about pollution in the 90's? The only issue I remembered was Mexico having acid rain and it was just a bit acidic not like oh shit I'm melting. Cant expect people to be saints from birth in order to join a cause.

You think climate change is a political thing? Didn't u think that politics are dictated by wealthy circle of people involved in oil business. You think taking measures about climate change benefits in any way to that sort of people? The richest people in the world are those who run oil business and they'll make anything to sweep these issues under the rug for as long as possible

achilles123321: Whether it's a scam or not, if you don't agree that we should cut down on our emissions and make vehicles more fuel efficient, then you are corrupt. Because we have the possibility to. And if we aren't being more efficient, we are being wasteful, and the only people who want us to be wasteful are the oil-involved companies, because it means we have to use more oil.

What?? Climate changes are dictated mainly by the sun. Human activity does something that has no real role actually. It's more of a political thing, sadly. It's a pity that intelligent and influential people, and establushment let their brains be directed in a one-sided way. Read a bit of that instead of saying bullshit just because it's attractive (to all of us) to rescue the planet. And I agree completely with what bloggerjoe wrote below.
