Thomas Bergersen - Empire of Angels (Piano Version)
Piano Version by Patrik Pietschmann
First of all, I wish you all the best for the year 2023! Last year I had some major private challenges to deal with, which is why more time passed between my video uploads than in the years before. However, things are starting to settle down and my biggest wish for this year is to focus more on making music again, because that's what really makes me happy! And it's not a matter of course that I get to share the result of my work with such a great and supportive community! Thank you to all of you who have been following me on my musical journey for years and who are always patiently waiting for a new video upload. Thank you to all those who regularly listen to my music on the various streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, and buy my sheet music on Musicnotes. And very special thanks to my super followers who always leave an encouraging comment under my videos or contact me in other ways to express their appreciation or give me valuable feedback. Without you, this KZbin channel would not exist in this form!
This video is a special one for me personally because it is the 100th on this channel. When I made the first videos for this channel, I never thought I would ever make 100 KZbin videos. And I still have the urge and the need to keep going. However, it's important for me to tweak certain things from time to time both from a technical and musical perspective. So for the 100th video, I set myself the goal of doubling the previous frame rate from 25 to 50. This led to the purchase of a new camera and a lot of new computer problems as I had to adapt the code and the effect templates to the new frame rate. But I think it was high time for this step and it was worth it.
I dedicate this video to my current favorite composer Thomas Bergersen, whose music has been inspiring me musically for many years, motivating me and giving me additional life force. All tracks by "Two Steps From Hell", which I have dedicated myself to on this channel so far and which I enjoy in my free time, were composed by Thomas Bergersen. And that's why I'm even more pleased to dedicate this time to probably the most popular track "Empire of Angels" from his solo album "Sun". I hope you like it!
Any suggestions for future arrangements? Please leave them in the comments.

It is crazy how much music can inspire and change a life. A bit more than one year ago I started to practice the piano, after watching several videos of you playing soundtracks that stamped my childhood. Now, one year later after practicing a lot, my piano teacher chose me to play on the annual festival to play your pieces and even considers me to play on the 50th anniversay of the school to play one of your pieces in front of the politicians of our city. This not only makes me help go through tough phases but shows me also that nothing is impossible if you really want to achieve something and actually do for it. I can't thank you enough for your music and leading me to a opportunity like this, which I would never have without you!

Totally agreed. As a beginner I watched several arrangements to learn the technique and notes by watching in 25% speed. But some of Patriks arpeggios are so superfast (Star Sky, Batman) that there a not enough frames per second to watch the technique properly. So this is a huge improvement. 👍

Everytime you upload, i'm always speechless but at the same time, there are so many things i wanna say. First of all, it's nice to see that you upgrated to 50fps. It adds a lot of immersion to your music and visuals. I understand the effort and i must say it was worth it, the result is fantastic! The arrangement itself is beautiful and, as always, well written. You have a way of arranging that is unique to your style and that i love since day 1. Keep it going, you never cease to amaze me! :) It's hard to believe that it's "only" your 100th video. I've been listening to your music almost everyday for years so this number seems really small. You are so important to me that only few videos were enough to change my life for the best. Listening to your music on my way to school few years ago, on my way back to home or in my room before going to sleep was and still is a habit that i have. You were always here for me whenever i needed and i thank you a lot for that. 💙 I hope that everything is going well in your life, i wish you a happy new year full of positivity and i'll see you in my next comment 😉 Looking forward to your next videos as always. :) Much love!

Hey MrTardoss, it's always a special pleasure for me when you leave a comment! Thanks again for your positive feedback and I'm glad you also noticed the higher frame rate. It's so nice to read what a positive impact my videos have on your life and what a place you give my music in your everyday life. Thank you so much for that! You're right, 100 videos may not be a lot compared to other KZbin channels and I know I can't keep up with the upload frequency of other channels. But for me personally, that number is already very high when I consider how nervous I am every time on the day of the upload! Even though you all overwhelm me with positive feedback every time, before uploading a new video, I'm still in a state of uncertainty as to how you'll react to it this time. 😅 In addition, the development of the number of views also plays a not insignificant role that I am always super excited when uploading a new video. And since I still haven't gotten used to this feeling after the 100th time, it's incredible to myself that I've been in this situation 100 times. But your incredible feedback and lovely comments are for me the reward for this kind of stage fright and motivate me enormously to continue. Thank you so much for that!😊

Major respect for taking the time to problem solve and improve your videos when so many others would try to get by with the bare minimum. I just have to say, my wife and I just had our first child in October. Her name is Ayla, she was somewhat fussy as a newborn. I love your music so much and it relaxes me so much I hoped playing some of your piano music would do the same for her. I’m so grateful to say that the piano music you arrange settles her beautifully. Being able to watch the tension dissipate from her little body and watch her relax is a beautiful thing. I have to thank you for all the hard work you put into arranging these pieces, it allows me and her to have something so soothing to bond over. Thank you, I hope you never stop arranging and writing original pieces. I have a feeling that this will be something her and I can enjoy for a long time to come.
