I can never forget this quote! It brings in mind the concept of Identity based habit which is the rewarding type of habit. Focus of those little actions, be consistent with them, over time it's gonna culminate in a particular identity of you; basically you're now the kind of person that pulls off success by default.

Even more detailed information is available in, Atomic Habits. 👍 Start with an incredibly small habit. Make it so easy you can't say no. Increase your habit in very small ways. As you build up, break habits into chunks. When you slip, get back on track quickly. Be patient.

Our whole life is revolving around Instant gratification and dopamine addiction. We have created a good environment for bad habits.
@dudebro4089
@dudebro4089 Жыл бұрын
1 - *make it obvious.* When, how and where do you do the habit? What PRECISELY should you do? Make the ambiguity go away and as clear as possible. The system you set up is more important than your goals. If you want to become fit (goal), you have to work out frequently (the system). 2 - *make it attractive.* Clean your desk, get a cup of tea and listen to music you enjoy with a work you don't enjoy so much. Bundle the boring stuff with the fun stuff. So " if i do X, i get to do Y. Not anytime else ". So doing the fun stuff at the end of the day, after earning them by being productive during the day, you can implement it. 3 - *make it easy.* So by putting your workout clothes in a place you can see, e.g. next to the door, you remind yourself to do that habit and they are within reach so it's not difficult to get going right away when you have an urge to do so. And start with baby steps. Don't start with 5 hours a day. Start with 5 minutes a day and work your way up. You should be far more concerned with the trajectory you're headed, not where you are now and how fast you are moving. 4 - *make it satisfying.* Similar to the bundling thing that was kind of a long term thing, make something so that you get satisfaction in the very short term. ( to battle the quick dopamine hit of social media for example. ) Especially in the beginning. E.g. right after you finish a 1km run, maybe listen to your favorite song or read a page of a fiction book you like so you get some reading time in too and it's double-ly good. Be careful though not to build bad habits through this. So if you were to reward yourself with junk food, that'd be counterproductive in the long run. By doing this overall, you'll get through the first steps of the compounding effect where it doesn't show itself yet and you don't know you are actually progressing. *But,* if you fail to do the habit you are trying to build, don't beat yourself up about it and try to cast a vote in the right direction next time so the majority of votes are on the side that you want to win. If you keep your trajectory at the direction you want to and not let it sway in another direction, that's a win in and of itself. **GOODLUCK KING 👑**

I made it a goal to have at least half of my plate to be non-starchy vegetables at every meal. I keep a lot of canned and frozen vegetables in the house but I also pick up fresh ones that I know that I like. Having a rule that’s clearly defined with flexibility has helped a lot and it’s now automatic to eat a lot of vegetables every day! :-)

@@MAScreech Oh well, each woman is different, can't speak too much there, but u know how it is: seek new adventures, go on romantic dates from time to time, eventually swing with other couples lol- it'll get to that point as opposed to cheating.. That's life. (have observed life from different perspectives... Life is something else. Think the point is to ignore as much malice as we can, give back, and follow our path to happiness through family, friends, and adventure. If u don't have children wait to have them till fully stable and if the mother loves taking care of self there's always something we have to give up to nurture our child 100%. Oh and make sure she has mom or any other girlfriend who can watch lil one for date nights. If she's not simple, treate her like a queen on those painful period days/ "...i feel in a rut day.." - personally was about to give up as a woman who underwent "botched" surgery but each day i muster up the will to make the change and SOON- not yet- FINALLY create happiness. - Honestly was feeling, " well Nasa, SpaceX, and XYZ billionaires/ scientist from other organizations know much more than we do. Are we directing our lives or are they? Then here's the media... That day i just thought, regardless of being a first generation woman in America, gosh- dang i need to change my life. Surgeries do make it difficult. But hey everything will line up 😁

Great feedback. Martin and I have both read the book, but he's been helping me write scripts and wrote this one - however, I ended up throwing in some of my own examples ad-lib while filming.

@@Thomasfrank Would you say it's about 70-80% Martin's analysis as a result?

 @Thomas Frank I was actually totally confused too! It seems like your mouth is partially frozen still from the dentist or something...I'm sorry, I don't intend to point out appearances!! It's just, when one has listened / watched someone speak for hours and hours over a couple years, the subtleties are hard to ignore. Take care buddy!
