I picked on up about a month and a half ago in 6.5 from Field and Stream. After mail in rebate it came out to $219.99. I slap the vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40. With Hornady 140 grain ELD match I'm consistently producing .5 inch 3 round groups abd .75 5 round groups at 100 yards. In my opinion this rifle is worth every penny.

Ivan Ayala Just a suggestion for the T/C 6.5 use Hornady Precision Hunter 143gr. ELD-X #81499. I shot 3shot groups at 100yrds and could cover each group with a dime. The Winchester Expedition 142gr. opened up and shot about 1inch to 1-1/4 inch 3shot groups. Just a suggestion. The T/C 6.5 with Hornady PH 143gr. is a tac driver and you will easily double hole and the third will be touching the first hole. Like I said just a suggestion

thomas abel I've shot the Hornady 143gr ELD-X and consistently group around .75 inches at 100 yards. It's a great load. For me, the Hornady 140gr ELD Match load has shot the best consistently giving me .5 inch groups at 100 yards. One load I do want to try is Prime Ammunition 140gr load. I've heard nothing but great things about that load.
@abcertweld7 жыл бұрын
Ivan Ayala I'll have to try the 140 as well just to see how my rifle likes it. I have always found it funny how rifles even if made by the same manufacturer likes one type of ammo over another, for instance lol my dad has one as well and his likes the 147gr. Hornady Match the best. Mine has 2 deer down already :). Have a great day.

I am here to testify. I recently got a TC Compass II in .308 Win. It is the next generation of the Compass. Out of the box, not even test fired, not zeroed with scope, at the time, just the first two shots. Hornady SST 165 grain. 1/2 inch apart at 100 yards (outdoor range.) Then, the barrel heated up and the groups opened up as I was zeroing. Switched to Federal nontypical whitetail 150 grain (I had half a box left from another time, 3 shots measuring 1 inch across and another group of two shots at 1 inch, both with a hot barrel I could not rest my fingers on. This rifle delivers the promise of 1 MOA on the first three shots. And then some. Here, in 2021, I paid 400 smackeroonis, plus tax, no shipping, plus a 35 clam transfer fee.

Sighted my t/c 6.5 creedmoor in today. Great groups, 6 types of ammo tested, all shot the same. Only complaint is the barrel leaves scratch on each round. Didn’t change after ~70 rounds. Hit the barrel with a brass brush. Will shoot again next weekend, didn’t see any burrs in the barrel. Overall T/C Compass w/ Nikon Prostaff 7 3-12 x 42 was a great buy.

I picked one up recently. Started with 6 rounds of 220 gr 3006 at 75 yrds. Using a bushnell scope. The groups were larger then iam accustom too. I have since glass bedded it and added a harmonic device. Next step is to add a muzzle device. With the bedding process i was able to inspect the build. The stock is very flimsy, the recoil lug is not part of the barrel assembly, its literally floating in the stock. The saftey is nice with three position bu the lever hangs off the side a fair amount with a strong force to move it between each position. The bolt seems to have a pinch point towards the rear of the slide. The trigger is fine. There is no slop. Over all...this is the cheapest rifle ive seen since the Remington 710. I would not put the two in the same category. This is the cheapest....playform in cost and build. The only thing contributing to accuracy is the 5R barrel and three lug bolt head. The rest of it is a let down. After adding an additional $100 in equipment to make up for its gall backs. You can get a savage 10 series with better quality or a good Remington 710.

Under your 300 Win Mag video I posted that I purchased the 6.5 Creedmoor version with the goal of reloading and getting a 1/2 MOA rifle and scope for under $350... or as I call it my tree-fiddy rifle. I still haven't made it to the range yet. I haven't even made it to the reloading bench yet. Been too busy buying other guns. :-) 50 Beowulf coming this week.
@deuceandguns7 жыл бұрын
I remember that comment. With match grade or good reloads these rifles are all capable of very good groups and certainly capable of taking care of your Loch Ness Monster problems. That 50 Beowulf is awesome and something I've wanted to get into for cast loads but I've already got too many projects at the moment.

Thanks for your suggestion. Your real world experience is particularly appreciated. A good theory is great, but someone else's report of what's actually working for them is even better. I just got a Howa 1500 HCR in 6.5 Creedmoor, and believe it or not, I'm currently looking into getting a precision AR in 6.5 Creedmoor as well - probably from CMMG. I'm thinking of making videos on all of them separately, and a comparison video on all three. I plan on reloading to get the best loads for each but I plan on shooting factory ammo for the first five rounds in each as part of the barrel break-in process, so in the very unlikely event that there is some serious out-of-the-box problem I'm not trying to explain to the manufacturer that their rifle is at fault and not my primo quality reloads. After the 100 round break-in of each firearm, I'll probably shoot five shot groups with several types of factory ammo just to see what each likes and to have a basis for my load development. I'll add the Hornady 81499 to the ammo list if I can find it. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Had another range day and just got home. Long story short... Less than a half inch group at 100 and a 2 inch group at 500 with one flyer that was barely out of the 2 inch group. 150 grain Winchester XP 150 grain and she's woods ready now. For all of you guys that plan to hunt with this rifle and caliber, make sure that you set your rifle up with the ammo you plan to hunt with. Not all ammo's are the same.

MPC 2015 it's the rifle. Mine is the same as well as everyone I talked to. The bullet takes a huge jump out of the mag when push the bolt home, the mag sets lower then most guns so it won't just slide of the top. Idk why they did it but maybe that's one of the ways they are saving money.

Great video BC. My wife needs a rifle that isn't gonna cause her arm to hurt due to shock cause she has a plate in her lower left arm. Would this 6.5 Creedmoor do that? I want to get her something she can go target shooting when I'm out with my SKS or Mosin.
@deuceandguns7 жыл бұрын
Recoil wise I'd say this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor is slightly tamer than an average SKS. It could be reduced further by filling the hollow butt stock with weight but if you really want to lower the recoil the same rifle is available in 5.56.
@davidgenthnerjr49957 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna try her out on my SKS considering I know that the Mosin is too much, if she can handle my SKS I'll get her a 6.5mm. I only asked cause a lot of people were saying the Creedmoor has a kick. I've never fired one so I have been asking around before Getting my wife a gun. I feel she should have her own if she is serious about learning to shoot.
@jameshealy45947 жыл бұрын
IMO if you're teaching someone to shoot you start with a rimfire, if you're absolutely unwilling to do that then a .223 is an acceptable alternative. I don't think a necked down .308 (basically) is really a good option.
@davidgenthnerjr49957 жыл бұрын
I learned on 30 cal when I first learned how to shoot. My friends dad took us out on the back 40 of the farm and taught me how to shoot with an old Winchester 30-30 lever action. She is gonna get her first few days with SKS which has no kick at all then if I feel she is ready I'll go get her a rifle of her own and she can progress after that. SKS's in my area are getting scarce so I'm trying to find her a gun that will be just as fun to shoot and can reach the 200-300 yards I'm shooting with my SKS.
@isellcatlitter7 жыл бұрын
the 6.5 is considered a short action offering reduced recoil... the .243 might be your ticket, still enough power for deer, wild pigs, plinking and varmints, a great youth gun or for those that have recoil issues.

Everyone is going crazy over the creedmore when the 260 rem shoots the same projectiles and speeds, maybe a lil faster but just as accurate .264 cal or 6.5mm in metric. I like the 6.5 cm but ppl act like what it can do is new, when 260 rem been doing it for 40 yrs or so. I own both and they are awesome. If you like one then you have to like the other.
@willshoemaker22126 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately .260 never took off. If it would have been reintroduced now that long range paper punching is popular, it would have fought 6.5C head to head for sure. Unfortunately it faded out and lost support before a lot of people got into long range. So most hunters just opted for a 7mm mag, 300 win mag, 30-06, .308, and .270. The ammo and guns were cheaper and more readily available to purchase vs. the 260. Move up to 2007, everyone's shooting long range 6.5CM comes out, low recoil, great BC, less than 8' drop at 1000yds, and the big kicker, available in an AR platform.
