Emmylou Harris steps back from singing the "just too high" line. She has seen so many talented people waste their lives and they are not her words. She is one class act.

My mom died this month. She was tough to love. I disappointed her & we let each other down. All I ever wanted was for her to truly value me. After a lifetime of working hard for approval & affection, I was able to then see it wasn’t my fault. It was her tragic inability to go of control & deeply love another. With this understanding, and in her passing, a mutual lifetime of pain & shame were released. Mama, u gave me my love of music, literature & the arts. With this gift, u gave me a world that finally made sense. When it’s my time, please Mama, be there….with Grandma & Grandpa to welcome me Home. Till then, I’ll keep loving u. Forever & Always Amen. Love, ur 58 yr/old, baby girl. ⚜️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️⚜️

The emotion in this song is just gut wrenching. Steve is brilliant and Emmy lifts the song to celestial levels with her harmony. Together they are just heart-breaking. The harmonica and Violin add such a haunting feel. A fantastic arrangement. Such a pleasure to have such simple yet, fantastic music.

Steve Earle has been my hero and inspiration for many years. As a recovering addict myself, I've always found great happiness in his gits, and grateful to God he lived to continue to share them.

We got Steve headlining Saturday night at hardly strictly bluegrass festival in Golden gate Park, and he was perfect. What a pro. He evokes so many emotions and can lay his heart bare in front of thousands. He's brave, honest, harsh at times, and he knows how life can deal some harsh blows. He's a good human being

I believe Steve Earle went to Galway to retreat after getting clean. There he met and played with Sharon Shannon. Galway became very close to his heart. Emylou Harris has sang with Mary Black, the Chieftains, and Dolores Keane. So it's good to see music crossing physical and genre boundaries. I have not forgot Donal Lunny. Yes he plays the bouzki everywhere. We must not forget supreme uillean piper Liam O'Flynn passed away this year. He and Donal played together in Plantxy for many years.
