Cool video idea for you Thorin : compare the greatest players of all time from different esports. It could be interesting for people who only follow certain esports to get some insight into their favorite player's "equivalent" in other games.

You can't bring up Karl Malone without John Stockton. All time leader in assists and steals playing with one of the greatest power forwards of all time. Very low key under the radar player who would occasionally pick up a triple double with points/assists/steals. They just had the misfortune of being across from MJ and Pippen, arguably the best clutch duo to ever play.
@Tyo-yw9jh6 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if Thorin reads his comments but I have a question: Do you see a difference between being a clutch player in 1vX situations and when a player steps up for a team when their team is losing? I’d maybe describe it as a short term clutcher for those good at 1vX’s and long term clutcher for when they step up when their team isn’t performing. Hopefully what I’m trying to say makes sense.

Looking back at this ever since SK lost Taco, I can see Coldzera's fragging power already dropping off a bit. The difference compared to Niko is that Niko has been kind of complacent because he knows he's surrounded by massive talent and all are basically on the same page and even sacrificing playstyles to fit the system, while Coldzera has to get over the fact that he no longer has Taco, who is willing to bait for him.

I think it's best not to think of clutch as a skill that players have, rather think of it as a description of what happened in certain games/matches/rounds. Kobe is considered clutch but if you look at his shooting percentage in situations where he can win the game in the 4th quarter, it's only about 25%. That's pretty terrible. To bring it back to CSGO, xyp9x is known as a clutch player because he's so good in 1vX scenarios. But it's not because he has some innate ability to be "clutch". It's just because he's really, really smart, and really good at finding 1v1 fights that he has the advantage in.
@koxxmoxx6 жыл бұрын
Is there even statistically such a thing as “clutch” in csgo? Has anyone statistically looked at it?

@florentclanet78606 жыл бұрын
It is not a cult, it's a fact, on all of the 25 events SK attended, FalleN had 12 events with at least +30 kills (over deaths) while fer had 8. Now just K/D ? FalleN has 1.21, fer has 1.16. Ok but fer gets a lot of entries ? FalleN has 1.45 opening kill ratio while fer has 1.22. You are usually the one going by the stats but this time you are ignoring it. FalleN is a strong fragger... it is a fact.

Why is Thorin saying "if you ever seen coldzera playing without fallen", thats 2014 m8, he was playing cs go for 1 year and a half at amateur teams and his faather didnt even allowed him to do it... Great vid, just putting that in context :)
@danieltapia64326 жыл бұрын
Saulo Silva on a high level that’s what he means , coldzera is a beast but under the context of his team so it would be interesting to see him playing apart from fallen and his current team
@Sg6CrossOver6 жыл бұрын
Daniel Tapia it wont happen hes on one of greatest team of all time, csgo different from sports info reigns over so playing in domestic team is better and international lines werent good until recent on top of that we have seen other players like s1mple who are top players but won very little of him pn elite team.
@casperiito6 жыл бұрын
"If you ever see" is future conditional tense, it is not past tense. He is not referencing 2014. He is referencing a potential future situation whereby cold might not have an IGL and a great entry to put him in situations to frag as he does
@Sg6CrossOver6 жыл бұрын
casperiito lol, already happened when sk was only getting to quarter or semis and cold wqs holding them because fer wasnt as great, fallen and fnx werent consistant through out the tournaments and taco was on a slump...

Would you consider Shroud as one of the most clutch players of all time? He lacked in many other categories, but it seems like he is the most known for his clutch potential.

J Yergs Nope. He didn't always show up at all and ever is way too much.

In no way. He had good mechanics and filled a role in c9. But he doesn't have the results or the stats of a "great" clutch player

I would rate Niko as the nr 1. Cold might take the spot later but for now Niko has it. Niko played in an average team for a billion years but still kept improving and making the best teams shit themselfs as soon as he started fragging. Now in FaZe he is still doing the same thing. Cold haven´t been in up their for this long but I´m pretty sure he will.

You’re discrediting Cold accomplishment. Niko has a better peak than Cold but Niko is fighting with himself, he chokes and shows no consistency and this will always make him number two until he fix these two major issue. Remember flashy plays doesn’t win you game ;) .
