Mine is very similar. I randomly ran into a girl I was friends with 13 years ago in school, and she said that I was such a loving friend and that she would never forget me. It meant a lot to me because we were only 9 at the time and for her to think so highly of me so many years later was heartwarming.

The kindest thing someone has said to me was my son (11 yrs old). So this one day, we were running errands together. After our 2nd or 3rd errand, we got back in the car. Then he said, “Mom, every person you talked to, you gave them compliments. You’re so nice.” Honestly, I didn’t even know I was doing that. My son noticing and pointing that out made me feel special.

Christmas Day, 2014, the tumor in my mom's breast burst and covered her remaining lung. She could barely talk let alone breath by the time the ambulance reached the ER... The doctor told us she wasn't going to make it, but my mom already knew that. Then she said something to me (in a very weak, whisper) shortly before moving her to the room she died in... 5 years later I asked my dad if she ever said anything to him at the hospital before she passed. He said she didn't speak to anyone after she got the news... My mother's last words were: "Son, you are the best thing that ever happened to me."

Oh Yes to hear that in Germany makes me feel happy too.. especially in Germany where the politicians are discussing if the hijab should be banned or not. @@takeurmedsbae I don't know what made you write this, but watching a person commit suicide without trying to help them is like you committing a murder. People are often pushed to the verge of killing themselves because they have been struggling mentally for so long, often deprived of love. The kindest thing someone's said to me: I made a friend in the first grade. Her Mom soon deemed us "sisters" and herself my "other Mother". I had a very hard childhood and this wonderful woman always went out of her way to make things easier for me and to show me love. Going on a year ago, I was having problems with my housing situation and I went to stay with them for two weeks. On the day I was heading back to my home city, while saying goodbye, she took my head in both her hands, looked deep into my eyes, and said "You grew up beautifully." At that point she knew me from age 6 to 26. The amount of love and sincerity in her voice made that moment stand out to me. And it always will. She was always someone who I knew cared for me deeper than most. Her and her daughter, and now her grandson. I have a little family that I wasn't born into but I know will always love me as one of their own.

When I applied for my first job out of high school, I gave the worst interview and couldn’t answer a few questions because I was so nervous. But I was polite, and somehow, the interviewer (who became my first boss) decided to hire me. I always try to do my best, but I had a low opinion of myself. They trained me and helped me develop people skills, I was so grateful. They were one of the first people who gave me constructive feedback rather than just criticism. After about two years, out of nowhere, my boss said, “I’m so glad I hired you.” and it was so kind of them because they were the one who built me up. It made me feel like they saw my potential even when I couldn’t.

The kindest thing ever said to me was my husband: I need to give pretext. I was in an abusive marriage and got out. During that marriage and after I kept trying to be who people wanted me to be, not who I was because the ex always forced that on me. When I met my now husband we were talking after we got together and I asked. What do you want in a partner? What is it you are looking for? He said: I want you to be yourself. I freaked out, curled up into a ball on my bed and was hysterically crying while attempting to get out: But I don't know who that is! He just held me and said: That's ok, I'll be here when you figure it out. I'll be here while you figure it out. He said even if we didn't end up together as a couple he would be there for me. He was willing to step back from his feelings for me to make sure I was ok. He has been my husband for 9 years and we've been together for 11 years. He is the most caring person I could have ever asked for.

"I consider you my family" -my best friend, it meant a lot because she doesn't have a good relationship with her mother and it was nice to know that she cared for me that much even when I'm not always a good friend

"I'm proud of you, kiddo." - my theater director after my first performance in a lead role. he's not a very affectionate person but he's become like a father to me. i have a shitty home life and bad relationship with my parents so he's the person i want to make proud. he hugged me and then put a hand on my shoulder and looked into my eyes and said that and i started crying. he thought i was crying cuz of how emotional i'd gotten on stage. but it was him. idk he's changed my life.

It was actually this past tuesday when my long distance boyfriend flew down to stay with me for a week(hey cameron) We were cuddling and talking on the couch. He just looked me in the eyes and said "it's okay, you're way worth the effort Emma." I was sexually assaulted 2 and a half yrs ago. And since then i havnt felt much worth. So when he said that to me, i just sobbed.

Kindest thing anyone ever said to me was my father.I am an artist and I thought he disapproved of my choice of career? He was Greek and an immigrant amd wanted everything for me? He said to me after I had turned away from art for a while quote" You have a gift from God why would you turn away from your calling, some people never get to receive the gift?" It has stayed with me everyday for 30 years.I love you Papa.xxx
