Fun fact: The GioGio PS2 game was actually planned to release overseas, but got cancelled for unknown reasons. A possible reason is because JoJo use real life Western songs, artists to name the characters and Stands, they faced with copyright threat from Prince's lawyers since Gold Experience is named after Prince's song, that's why in the current jojo anime and Jojo games the localizers/subbers use localized name to prevent from the copyright issues.

The song you're talking about at 19-20 minutes in is a big meme in Japan, it shows up in reality TV shows and other sorts of entertainment TV. It's the theme song from the legendary 仁義なき戦い series which retells the somewhat romanticized stories of real yakuza members and groups. All of them are translated under the name "The Yakuza Papers" and are an incredibly great watch.

@main_rouge
@main_rouge 3 жыл бұрын
@@thorhighheels I see, I've already heard people from most European country refer to colonialism as the "golden age" but its usually to say that it was a good period for the country (or company) growth and economics. That said it can also mean a lot of things like refer to the age (people over 50yo are often said to be in their golden age) and even if its used to describe an effect of colonialism I find it weird to stop using the term just because of its affiliation, if people used the term "positive era" instead of "golden age" would you stop using the words positive era for exemple ? After all golden age can just be used to describe a period of time you find close to perfect so of course people that loved colonialism for some reason will use the term but its not an issue with the words or the concept in itself. Like you said there can be a lot of golden age be it for movies music genre...people can link it with basically anything so I don't see why it would automatically be linked to colonialism. And you're saying theres many golden age not only the greek one but thats not really the issue here, first there wasn't even a greek golden age, its just where the term comes from and that's why its important, its basically an idea/concept first and wasn't really linked to anything and then people started to use it to reference different periods in time, the origin of words or concept is always what matter the most, not how people use it. That said I'm not Dutch and if this is really used a lot over there in this way then I can understand why using it may sound weird.

While the video is a little older, I have to say: Finally someone is making a translation for the first Boku no Natsuyasumi, while is the blurry and zoomed PSP version, is better than nothing. They're are actually making the text on the horizontal(something that I thought wasn't possible). Lets hope that they manage to complete, which could lead to the translation of the rest of the series. At least when comes to new games in the series, Millenium Kitten is making that shin-chan game that seems to play in a similar way to the boku games (apart from what seems to be fetch quests)

Critical Velocity's jazzy tracks slap, man. One neat thing this game does unlike most driving games (even modern sandboxes) is having oncomming traffic freak out when you drive in the wrong lane. Traffic cars in most games usually don't try to avoid you, much less acknowledge your existence. Despite being a B grade project, the map impressed me. They even have Ridge City is incorporated into the open world. I thought it was only for a bonus level with the Crinale. Makes me wish the game had more cars from the Ridge Racer lore. I do wish the sound effects and the physics were better.
