So...I've played this game 3 times till I got the "good ending". And yes, I agree that it was really frustrating every time I had to throw the fucking iron ball to the empty hand on the main gate (I think it was the main gate)... Besides that, I really enjoyed the game.

+Strange Lola Yeah the game has a couple of gimmicky things like that. I still kinda love it though. Has some great music too! :3
@strangelola8 жыл бұрын
+ThorHighHeels yeah, true bout the music, pretty good =). I love it too but I didn't like the fact that to get the good ending you have to "examine" every single thing on the game, even though it isn't important (you know, like "the drawer is empty" lol). Beside that, I luv the game aswell. PS: I really like your "I've been playing" vids, I really enjoy them and I usually don't like game reviews kinda videos... So that's good, I guess xD...

That feel when try to throw an iron ball into a hand like a basketball is the hardest part of the game. Oh and that bird sliding puzzle is kinda hard too at times. And yet it was still one of the greatest games the DS had to offer at the time.

Finally! Some appreciation for this game. Agreed that the gameplay is nothing special and borderline frustrating at times, but the story totally makes up for it. The Blood Edward Island's mystery about what happened there in the past and how exactly it connects to present time events and Ashley's story had me guessing till the end.

I know some people shit on this game and most go meh, but I think this game just clicked with me and I really did enjoy the gameplay/story ( also helped that I was an absolute nerdy loser who had a huge crush on the main character who at the time was only a bit older then me). As a person that never really played graphic adventure games or visual novels (still don't really), whether or not the game was innovative or stood out from the rest in the genera didn't matter as it was the first one of its kind I had played, so that helped skew it towards liking it more I guess.
@dewlover4sure4 жыл бұрын
I also think besides some fixes to the controls and functionality the game couldn't really be remade as I feel the graphics and style of the game kind of worked for it's atmosphere and art direction. it's back grounds being it pre-rendered and the block-y early DS graphics when walking around kind of help give it a weird vibe that I think works in it favor despite it being objectively low end on the graphics department, maybe some work done to clean up the pixelation but maybe even that would change the vibe. idk probs just nostalgia blinders.

Is it possible to blow the microphone on the emulator? I'm thinking of giving this game a try
@thorhighheels2 жыл бұрын
yea u can hook up a actual mic to ur pc or just use a button that tricks the game into thinking that ur blowing cuz it generates white noise in the emulator

Is there a version for ps4? I used to play this when I was younger on DS and I would love to find something similar on ps4!!
@pepiscampos63974 жыл бұрын
It's not exactly a version of this game, but there's a series called Zero Escape which is pretty much just like this (a visual novel with point and click segments). There are 3 games in total and I believe all 3 of them are available on PS4 (the first two are actually a bundle, if I'm not mistaken)
@aylabuntjen36874 жыл бұрын
Pepis Campos thanks so much!! I’ll be checking them out now
@ParmMannREBORN3 жыл бұрын
If you enjoyed Zero Escape, the dev made another game called AI: The Somnium Files that's really good, though pretty different. Less puzzly than Zero Escape Hotel Dusk is also a good game for that Trace Memory fix cause it's made by CING but it's stuck on DS
