What do you do with a cat that is very aggressive. Just tried to shave her and I'm covered in scratches. (She was give 100mg of gabapentin. She was nice and caln when I picked her up...then ....not so calm 😞

Oh we've come across plenty of very aggressive cats in our time. The biggest thing I can say, is all cats pick up off your own energy. So if you can remain very calm and steady and do not flap if your cat does scratch, bite, it prevents them from going into hyper attack mode. You need to keep having a deep breath and calming the situation down and then try a bit again. Never pin the cat down as this sends them also into attack mode. Just do bits at a time and then reward your cat with playtime or cuddles, lots of encouragement with the voice. It is just regular handling. We have had some cats turn after say 3 visits to enjoying the grooming/clipping as long as their parents work with their cats in between visits with regular handling, brushing, touching feet, etc it really helps us when they return. Even playing some relaxing animal healing music in the background when you are handling your cat helps keep the energy levels on a low. Good luck x
