I love that they literally showed on screen Omega putting aside the things of childhood. She recognizes that her beloved doll that’s been here since the piolet is a relic she’s outgrown, literally a museum piece. And her straw doll is given to a little kid who needs it. Then she goes on to make the adult decision to sacrifice herself for the good of the many. A decision Crosshairs abides by. And when she’s the Empire’s prisoner, she doesn’t panic or cower, she takes a deep breath and centers herself to face whatever’s coming. Can you imaging if the live action shows had writing this subtle and strong?

The way I interpret that scene with Crosshair at the end was that he got hung up by those TK troopers for a precious few seconds... seconds he didn't have to properly set the shot up while the ship was still in range. It's not like he totally whiffed the shot, the tracker lost momentum before even reaching the ship. Is the term "fall off"? Whatever it is that applies to real world ballistics here. I will say though, that scene had some weight to it. And there was a palpable sense of deflation when he failed. That one kinda stung.
@JoRoq19 ай бұрын
Not just by a few seconds, but at least a minute (relative time). He had to fight and run to get away from the troopers, and then had to make a snap decision to take the shot without a sniper's normal prep. It gave stakes to Crosshair's role in the wholly improvised plan.
@douglaswright40199 ай бұрын
Agreed. His aim seemed dead on, but the fight gave the ship time to get out of range.
@jackychan929 ай бұрын
He also did mention that there were too many variables when Omega suggested that he shoot the tracker after he first pointed out that the Empire would confiscate the tracker in her comm. He was probably thinking about his shaky hand, but this was worse. If he had a little more time and not gotten in that scuffle, I'm sure he would have made it. I can actually picture the look of horror on his face, and his eyes going big with shock under his helmet, seeing that he missed.
@kevinzhang66239 ай бұрын
That's obvious, people complaining about it are imbeciles. Outcome would be the same if his shooting was perfect as before. Too many variables like being tackled by TK's and the ship escaping, it's not something you can bet on achieving, at his best he would've always needed to take a few more seconds to shoot it with precision and accuracy.

These episodes were FANTASTIC. I do have something I’d like to discuss. How is everybody feeling about their use of scorch? Personally I feel it was a mistake. He doesn’t act like him and is just there. If they wanted to have a recognizable commando I feel that fixer was a better choice. He was much more by the book where scorch was much more emotional. It’s not a huge deal the season is still great. Just something that keeps coming up.

@occam73829 ай бұрын
I personally think Scorch's inclusion just makes this whole story even more tragic. He was the jovial, fun-loving, laid-back anchor of Delta Squad. He was kinda like Wrecker, in a way (up to and including his playful rivalry with Sev). And what happens after Sev goes MIA and the Empire takes over? Scorch is basically reduced to being Hemlock's b*tch. His humanity has been stripped away, either by force, or by him simply trying to survive. His team is gone, and now he's been left with nothing but to be a servant to one of the most evil men this show has produced. Can you think of a more cruel and heartless fate for someone like Scorch? Because I can't.

I think that the Clone X’s should be some sort of court marshaled clones that have been turned into elite assassins. Like I feel like it would be very interesting for the first clone X that bit the cyanide capsule to be Slick from the clone wars and our current clone X to be Cody or even perhaps Dogma. Also, something that’s just been on my mind is where’s the rest of Delta Squad? I feel like they would be perfect to include as like guards inside the force kids’ room. Or at least one of them like Fixer or Sev. I would even buy that Boss was killed (during order 66 or anywhere really) and Scorch was promoted to leader of the squad in his stead. It’s just that seeing Scorch be such an integral side character to this show, I feel like his squad should at least get a mention. As for the episodes, I thought they were some of the most solid of the show. A perfect example of subversion in my opinion with Crosshair fully choking on the shot. Especially given his 110% effort when he was attacked halfway through aiming. I’m also impressed with how much maturity the writing had by giving us scenes outside our main cast to give us incredible dramatic irony and showing Cad bane but not letting him steal the show in any sense. The character development as well was not shied away from especially on the parts of Crosshair and Emerie. I’m excited to see where the show goes for it’s final few episodes. One month left!

To me, it feels in character for her to reject the idea of learning the Force once she learns she would have to leave the Bad Batch. She’s way too attached to them already to become a real Jedi, and I think she’d be unwilling to sever those attachments. Plus, I recall in an interview with Omega’s voice actress that her story apparently originally could have been much longer but now isn’t, hinting that this show is Omega’s last appearance as a main character. Good setup for the next four episodes. Now I'm just hoping for a satisfying payoff. I liked the explanation about Omega's blood, just enough information without going full on expo dump.

Hey, Thor. I was watching another review of the episodes, particularly #10, and Emery's morality was brought into question. This was something I hadn't consciously considered before. Given her actions thus far as well as with the new episode, what are your thoughts on her character? Personally, I think that she is currently the banality of evil. While her upbringing was undoubtedly quite far from idealistic, as hinted by the dialogue in this episode, we see that she still has agency, as evidenced by her gifting Omega's toy to Eva. However, we have not seen her ostensibly or advertently defy the Empire that she now knows for certain to be committing atrocities. Obviously, this is a new revelation for her and the audience, and there is still time for her to act, but I think it is important to note that real-world tyrannical regimes have always relied on willing, unquestioning underlings to enact some of the most heinous breaches of liberty. In my opinion, that is what she is doing, and I find it really compelling for the writers to have portrayed that to some extent. I would like to see them bring up this question, though, but I doubt they will with what little time they have left.

These episodes were the return to form for the season after two mildly disappointing (not bad, but not good either) episodes. Very stoked to see how it all ends... in tears and in flames, I'd wager.

Still trying to figure out how I feel about episodes 8 & 9. They were absolutely a break from the rising tension and break-neck speed of the first episodes and these two. But I can’t decide if a break was really needed. They do a good job of reiterating Pabu as a peaceful haven and vision of what the galaxy could be. What the batch is fighting for. I expect I won’t know how well those episodes work until I binge rewatch the whole season next year.

okay so we are right back in a loop of where we ended last season....this whole season so far has been pointless, im convinced the writers dont know wtf they are doing.

I think Jennifer Corbett should get to write much more star wars! I love the bad batch, it may even be my favourite star wars show besides clone wars, I would love to see her write a live action show with the same depth and tone because I think live action star wars had been lacking that recently

I had a brain blast watching these episodes. The super clone is not Cody or Tech. It's Crosshair. The Crosshair with them is either a clone (which explains his hand since he is not cloned from the original source) or the other one is a clone. Either way, the super clone has Cross's inflection I'm his voice, great with sniping, and there was already a showdown between the 2 where our cross hair lost. I'm convinced.

This show and Andor have made me truly feel hatred towards the Empire, something I've felt was always lacking in Star Wars as well as just shows in general. I love a good sympathetic antagonist, but I also like when a story really makes you feel rage towards a truly evil antogonist which I just don't get a lot of. Only other recent instance for me was with Dune and the Harkonnen, which I guess makes three instances but I still want more! Let me feel angry!

Hey, Thor. If I understand correctly, Dr. Karr is basically an older version of Omega. When speaking to Nala Se, Karr said “I don’t have her (Omega) power” and Nala Se said “Don’t you?” I’m wondering if Karr will free Omega only to have it discovered that her Karr’s blood will work well enough for Project Necromancer?

5:58 I hate to be "that guy" but Tarkin has a Grand Moff badge in this scene. In the canon Tarkin book he becomes a Grand Moff at the end of that book, and it takes place in 14 BBY. Kinda funny because they have made this mistake before in earlier episodes and went back and fixed it. Seems they made the mistake again 🤓☝️

I thought it was to good episodes, still I think they should have gone into the ships computer, that Crosshair and Omega used to escape and bring out the coordinates to Tentis. Cause it is still the only way to calculate a trip if it is hyperspace or with a GPS. You need the current position and where you wanna go. But I guess it has to do with plot reasons. It was good to see Cad Bane again, would love to see Voss as well

Hey Thor, there's something I've been wondering about since watching the Ahsoka series. Can a character like Baylan still use the light side of the Force if his bad actions are done with genuinely good intentions? It seems pretty clear that one doesn't simply lose their Force abilities (or fall to the dark side) because they're oblivious to or unintentionally working against the will of the Force. The Jedi during the Clone Wars were fighting a war under orders from a Sith Lord but it didn't diminish their powers at all. The light side never “turned off” their abilities. Baylan is strong enough to beat Ahsoka, making him seemingly as strong as a true Sith, yet he displays none of the expected dark side attributes, physically or emotionally. He has no yellow eyes or corrupted red lightsaber, and his sad yet resolute personality doesn't betray the simmering rage one would expect. In fact, has he ever done anything that can be concretely considered a dark side only ability? What if the twist is that Baylan doesn't even use the dark side?

Is the other Clone X that Crosshair fought dead, or is that the same one which is why they were talking about failure and mistakes?

If each episode in this series got like 10-20 more minutes to flesh out the characters and let them talk a bit more (just like in Andor), I think it could honestly be the best (or at least the second best) Star Wars show.

The beginning of episode 4 addressed that question exactly. That ship was so damaged that it fell out of hyperspace and crash landed. We literally see the ships ops system fail. Omega’s first impulse is to repair the system so Crosshair points out that in the time it would take the Empire could arrive and recapture them. He’s rught, shortly after they leave it the Empire arrives and recaptures the ship. You can argue that’s all a bit contrived to advance the plot, but you can’t say that obvious solution was just ignored.
@silviotavares7719 ай бұрын
@@douglaswright4019ok I see.. given Omega's intention with the repair was in order to contact Hunter and Wrecker, I didn't consider the damage would also compromise their ability to retrieve Tantis' location. I might have missed they explicitly talking about the matter at that moment, nevertheless sounds reasonable explanation even if the info is implicit rather than explicit. In my mind it was a given that if someone escapes from a secret place it is no longer a secret but I suppose this is not always the case in SW. Thanks for the answer bro :)
